The engine fire thing was blown totally out of proportion. It only affected a small portion of the 1984 4 cyl modelsl. The v6 was introduced in 85 and never had an issue with fire. Its a shame this car got stuck with a bad rep it didnt deserve because its really a fun little car.

The bigwigs at GM Corvette division had the Fiero discontinued. Fact.

Just saw your post. Make sure you check for rust. Look under the trunk carpet on the sides and in the wheel wells. The price sounds fair if the car is in excellent shape. Let me know how you made out.
