I visited Monaco in 2013 for a job interview. You can smell the money, and the garlic! For the record, I'm an humble South African electrician. I was met at Nice airport by a lady chauffeur from "Monaco Limo", driving a Mercedes limousine. She apologized profusely for not having collected me in the company helicopter, because it was being serviced. I toured around during the day, and spent the night at the Columbus Hotel. The following day, I went for the interview, before flying back to Johannesburg. Although I didn't get the job, this was the greatest highlight of my career! I was late for work, and when I explained that I had spent the weekend in Monaco, no-one believed me. Then I showed them the air tickets.

It was so nice to hear someone speak of Princess Grace in honest terms. I've only ever heard how unhappy she was. It was so nice to hear Mr Al Fayed say she was one of the nicest, down-to-earth, always laughing, human beings he'd ever met.

I had the pleasure of meeting Prince Albert in 2002 in Newport, Rhode Island at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. My Son received the Sportsman of the Year award and he was so down to earth and kind.

Monaco is one grand resort. I would love to live there one day. Inside the word impossible is the word possible!

A very honest asessment of Monaco, if a bit too focused on wealth and playboys. I live in London and Monaco, and apart from a few 'special' times of the year (such as the Grand Prix) when people descend on Monaco to flaunt their cars and wealth, it's pretty much a straight forward place with locals going about their daily lives, and foreign residents integrating and very much low-key. In fact the majority of residents drive ordinary cars such as Toyota (even Prince Albert drives a Prius). My invitation is.....come in autumn/winter and see 'real' Monaco in a differnt light!

At 13 I went to monte-carlo & cannes on a family holiday & both blew my mind. From seen Sean Connerys house the palace to tiffany on the Cannes strip i was hooked on all the glitz & glamour of it all. I'm 34 now & still talk about my time there.

I had a day out in Monaco, it was a Sunday, we had lunch at a restaurant alfresco behind the Church, then all these priests started turning up outta nowhere then Prince Albert and his Mrs turned up to attend a ceremony at the Church. Got to see em live!

I must say after spending time in Monaco I felt awful I think the way it's built up against the mountain makes you feel really dizzy no matter where you go😂 My vertigo never recovered. I was there for a spectacular boat show and of course I did all the touristy things as well. One of the most beautiful views I ever saw was as I left Monaco heading towards Italy and we pulled into a fuel station where there was a lovely wall and as I walked up to it I could see Monaco to my right and Italy to my left and there was a little village town on the Italian coast that looked like something out of a fairy tale the water from the marble dust was a blue green clear crystal and the buildings were exquisite. Now that was a real view and I would love to go back there one day to actually visit the town itself. Be honest a far better view from the fuel station than I ever saw anyway in Monaco xxx

One of the true value of big money is to be where you want to be anytime. To walk into places and be served with expected high value choices, whether it be accommodation, food, or objects of desires. To walk away from fairweather friends, obtain those peace of minds-spaces and chose with all the time in your hands.

Visited Monaco when we drove from Italy to Spain. We stayed in a Holiday Inn which was really nice with great views. However our Honda Civic stood out in the parking garage in comparison to the Bentleys, Ferraris, etc. Beautiful little city to explore though. Glad we went.

I love this place , it fascinates me . I visited Monaco twice , the second time I walked around the casino in my fake white dinner jacket and matching bow tie trying to look classy . When I visit Monaco , I truly know how poor I really I am and always shall be .

in 1980 I parked my brand new citroen CX limo, with the required red TT license plates , right in front of the casino, no flic or valet in sight, had an espresso coffee and felt like James Bond, or at least , Eddie Constantine....

Monte Carlo has some similarities of the city of my current residency: casinos, palm trees & mountains? The mountains are near Monaco but still in France.

It’s on my bucket list, but I probably won’t bother. I hate cruise ship crowds.

The current Prince is married to a South African woman. We, as South Africans, are proud to say to call Monaco our son in law.

To have a high speed car in Monaco today seems like a waste. The traffic is terrible, there is no place to park and after visiting it a few times you're always happy to leave. Quite stressful really. Piers did not mention the Oceanography Museum though and it is absolutely amazing.

You can literally buy a palatial estate in the South of France for what you would pay for a teeny-tiny-little flat in Monaco. Monaco is fun but it's silly to live there, when you can live out in the country on your own estate.

I went to a football match in Monaco once, it was a different world to my local club Crystal Palace.

Money has spoiled and disfigured Monaco. I remember visiting Monaco in 1960, it was completely different. When I went back in the 80s and in 2016, I was everytime shocked. No charm anymore and it looks like a fish tin. No space.

It's a lovely place been there several times in the seventys it was not as full of holiday makers then alot smarter then On a cruise ship in Monaco 2014 it had changed a bit scruffy there's lots of old people around thay probably lived there the pool restaurant were i was at the time the waiter was familiar to them but the holiday makers he ignored.

It’s very interesting who is the King in Monaco,I remember when I was in there the sity menagerie was tell the surrounding area to be clear,because it was the only place where the King 👑 would have coronated, and me and my wife would see by Farr to see that Coronation which was very much interesting 🧐 😅😊

No matter how rich a country, state or city is, having residents who are "commoners" or even low income status. Otherwise, who are going to work as drivers, bellboys, waiters, receptionists, clerks, cashiers, etc etc. Not every single person can be a boss. Unfair? Inequality? That's just the way of the world.

In 1970 when I was either 19 or 20, I recall vividly going into the casino and changing my clothes very rapidly and putting them into a locker-- much as you would find in a secondary or high school or in a bus station. THEN I went into the casino and I walked around and walked out. I got my clothes; I changed back and I carried on. I forget where I went after that. Obviously Grace Kelly had arrived with her daddy's money but it was nowhere where in terms of being a place of only wealthy folk. I recall about 7 years ago now, meeting an East European woman from Poland who was 30 years old and she'd just gotten her second job working on a yacht. SHE said her goal was to end up in Monaco because there were no taxes. At age 30 she was attractive but I will say East Europeans age very fast and I imagine now she's piled on weight and her legs which were not very shapely to begin with, tho long, would have lost all of their appeal. SHE would have faded into obscurity. S he favored only Englishmen. I think because being a Pole, a people who àre extremely emotional,she sought stability . MY guess is frankly she married well when she still had her looks or she returned to Poland which is not too bad because she had a loving family. And so it goes 😊

What is it with that fixation for paying taxes. It's not that the politicians are spending the taxes sensible. No, they even invented more taxes. And on the other hand these people do nothing wrong. They use the laws made by politicians you all voted for. I have nothing against rich people, I only hope for the opportunity to also become rich. I do have a big problem with politicians that start of poor yet 25 years later they become rich of the high wages payed by our taxes.
