The way I see between the 2 is if you want power go for the i525, if you want accuracy go for the i230. Got fitted for the i230, I was more consistent with i230 than i525. Can’t wait to get em!

I recently got a set of the i525 irons, and I absolutely love them. The feel, the trajectory, and the consistency are a big improvement from my previous irons. I don't know about power, however. I lost some yardage from my PXG 0211 irons, and I'd say the i525 are even possibly even with the yardages I get from my old Ping Zing beryllium set that I game from time to time.

The 0211 are a very strong loft and low spin so are long but that can give large gaps at the bottom end of the bag so not a surprise another head is a little shorter

@@Precision_Golf I wondered if my carry isn't similar, but the i525 irons are spinning more and therefore stopping instead of rolling out.

I525 will be longer but the flight on the i230 will most likely be better

Now that you have established that the 525 is one club longer than the 230, wouldn’t it make sense to compare a 525 7iron to a 230 6iron, etc. as far as launch angle,spin, height and dispersion?

No because there is also a loft difference. The next step would be to match the lofts exactly and then give a further comparison.

On the golf course an iron shot is dictated by the distance of the shot required. It doesn’t matter what the loft is or what number is printed on the club, the golfer picks the 150yd club for a 150yd shot. Is one more likely to hit a good shot to the pin with a 525 7iron or a 230 6iron? The whole purpose of player’s distance clubs (other than ego) is to allow the golfer to club down to a shorter length club for accuracy but still cover the distance.

@@larrysnider985 worth remembering that the launch and spin the heads create will help players find an optimal ball flight and it is important to use the head style help get gapping and a balance of distance and control correct.

@@Precision_Golfshould someone consider a 5 iron in i525 instead of 4 iron i230? Because I have the i230 and as we all know it’s more difficult to hit a 4 iron than a 5, so should someone consider the i525 5 iron instead of a 4 iron i230?

@@denmark39 all to do with gapping and making the progression of distance through tue Irish and into the woods balance so could be an option but looked at in a case by case basis

It depends on your launch and spin plan file. The i230 will give a higher launch and spin whereas the i530 will promote a lower spin and a bit more ball speed

Hi Simon, excellent video. Is there an effective way to combo these irons with i525 in the longer irons and i230 from 7 down to pitching wedge or is it best to stick to one range all the way through? Thanks.
