I actually met the dev of Ignistone in Japan. It seemed like he just wanted to make a simple mobile game focused around the feeling of parrying in games and build the entire gameplay loop around that. He explained the bad decisions he made during development and I feel I learned a lot listening to him.

Glad to see Backpack Hero get some love. I bought it when it first came out in early access and it’s been great seeing the devs be active and make the the game even better. It’s a fun comfort game for me.

As someone who hates ink companies with a passion, that printer game hits hard

If anyone likes Zepps Cafe I recommend also playing Coffee Talk! I imagine it's inspired by it, and there's similarities from the gameplay to the universe being humanoid etc. it's a really sweet game with two episodes that captured my little heart ❤

I've only heard about Buckshot Roulette recently, and it was a video of a dude playing the game under a challenge. The challenge was if he lost the game...then he would have to watch "Chicken Little". It's a good video.

Im really happy Connor played Backpack Hero, its one of my favorite games, though some of the later chars you unlock are super frustrating (in a fun way) to play

Someone should send Connor Chicken Police as a suggestion. If he appreciates good voice acting in Zipp’s cafe, he’ll love the game it’s based on. Then again, Connor has the patience of a toddler when it comes to dialogue based games

Yup. That's especially a big problem in mobile games. They'll have you stuck in a tutorial for half an hour before you get the free roam. Sometimes you have to beat a couple stages before you can even get to settings, which is extremely annoying when you want to change something in those settings.

Buckshot Roulette is pretty dope! It gets super fun when you get all the good power ups

I love this series because I find lots of hidden gems. Last time I bought Killbug and loved it, this time I got Buckshot Roulette, Toss and Printersim. Looking forward to playing them :) Wishlisted a couple others.

Blood West is super good, played the whole game and loved it to death. 10/10 would recommend.

Toss is definitely amazing. I waited until it was on sale because I wasn't convinced but when I actually played it I loved every minute. Backpack Hero's also solid. Love that game.

I dont think they ever sent Connor the game but recently i had tried a demo on steam for a Claw Machine game, and immediately my first thought was this is a game for Connor. The creator even admitted it was inspired by Connor lol. Though i dont think hed play it because he seems to have enough claw machine in his life already

From personal experiense, never played the full releases of these games but buckshot and backpack hero both were amazing on the testing phase. Glad to see they made it out there on the public market.

Damn I thought I as hallucinating when I saw the Mermaid's Tongue is actually a Detective Grimoire game, like the original flash game was so good all those years ago and it would be fun to see it and the rest of the games around some more.

It's so funny to me how every top-down horde killing game is now a "vampire survivors clone" :D

This is exactly why these devs sent you these games. Any publicity is good publicity, and imo this is a wonderful showcase.

I just wanted to mention that while there are *tons* of mediocre vampire survivors-likes, Picayune Dreams and Halls of Torment are genuinely really great.

My only criticism is that I think Connor underestimated how long it would take to clear this many games, resulting in a 12+ hour stream where he was pretty conked out by the end and didn't have the energy to properly assess the games near the end of the list.

While I don't agree on many of the takes, and a lot of the later games got the short end of being judged after hours and hours of streaming other games, I'm overall glad to see that Connor does approach games with an eye to design rather than the recently-alarming realization I had that a lot of "gamers" view games solely from a consumer perspective. In my day, being a gamer was hand-in-hand with being an armchair developer-yes, usually a pejorative, but it also meant we cared about a game's vision, not just its execution.

if you like point and click you CANT go wrong with detective grimoire, definitely check out tangle tower

ive played fatal zone and its fun. i think it runs into the same issue as a lot of games... because its in the same GENRE as a popular game you will always compare it to that no matter what. its like battle royale games and fornite. or auto battlers and autopets. or even deck building rouge likes and slay the spire. fatal zone and vampire survivors are both horde survival games thats it. also i kinda like fatalzone a bit more because it has that added mechanic of you need to know when to pull back
