Some kpop stans can't stop talking about certain opinions without realizing they make no sense.
In this video we'll take a look at some of these opinions and why they are absolutely pointless.

tbh some raps on certain songs are not properly associated with the song itself or it doesn't fit sometimes, but they are necessary. there are idols whose job is to rap y'all
@Lyssa3Lynn
@Lyssa3Lynn Рік тому
For me I feel like some groups just shouldn’t have rappers. I don’t think “rapper” should be a necessary position in every group if the raps are constantly ill-fitting in a song and bring its quality down, or none of the members are even particularly good in rap. Example being RV, I think their songs excluding raps are better in most cases, and despite Irene being “main rapper” she’s much more suited towards vocals/dance.
@baby.blue_b
@baby.blue_b Рік тому
@@Lyssa3Lynn Yes I agree a lot. It really isn't a necessary position to begin with since not all songs need raps, but more on vocals and ofc, choreography.
@dinoman4655
@dinoman4655 Рік тому
@Lyssa Lynn. I completely agree with you. GFriend never had a rapper and they made it work. I also feel like in some cases, there are idols who ended up getting rap positions, not because they are particularly good or have a passion for rap, but rather it was the only position available to them, and it really shows sometimes... Yes, most group's have rappers, but it's not a necessity in every single song especially if the group's/ song's concept does not suit it. Like you'll be hearing the hardest bars dropped on ballad song and it does not fit

1. "No hate though" and their opinion is nothing but hate. Yeah, sure Jan. 2. Sexy concepts as a debut just rub me the wrong way considering how young idols are debuting now. 3. Dear god stop commenting on other people's bodies, people. 4. Raps are necessary. They can be poorly placed within songs but they're still necessary. 5. Everyone's taste is different and I don't understand why more people don't understand this. It's weird. 6. There are toxic stans literally everywhere and people need to stop acting like it's a localized thing to one particular area. 7. "Underrated" after Mamamoo just came back and completely obliterated their own records. Like... make that make sense. 8. People trying to say that a group "fell off" is just strange to me. It's not like one comeback that didn't land exactly perfect is going to toss a group into nugudom. 9. Aaaaaand finally, Blackpink are at the mercy of their company like almost every other idol in the industry and they likely have no control over when they have comebacks or how often. K-pop stans need to relax.

About sexy concept we're not saying we're looking for a sexy minor. No, that's not what we're suggesting. Yes, there were times where idols were exploited but not all of them. I mean look at sistar, they're known for their sexy concepts but they didn't start it until Dasom became an adult. And looking the way Hyolyn is still doing it even after starting her own agency shows that they used to do it because they were into it. That's what we mean when we say we want sexy concepts. Sexy doesn't always mean derogatory, it can be empowering too

being able to separate your feelings from reality is a thing some stans gotta learn. sometimes you can say you just don't vibe with a group or song and not have to make up justifications for it. the idea that whatever you're critiquing has to have some inherent fault for you to feel ok abt not reacting positively to it is... concerning.

I 100% agree on the BLACKPINK opinion (and all the rest, surprisingly!) - I think the stans have said the girls are being mistreated for so long they want a new narrative and I really can't blame them... You're right though, what do we know? None of us know them personally
@kath9088
@kath9088 Рік тому
But I disagree with the comment of 'if it was anyone else you would scream mistreatment' because this IS an issue unique to BLACKPINK in terms of a global stage, all the other top groups put out music at a decent or sometimes too fast rate and then BP barely comeback ever

@Lana-pk5go Рік тому
There is no such thing as an ugly idol. Being good-looking is literally part of their job description. Now, a particular idol's good looks may not be to a particular person's taste, but that does not cancel out said idol's good looks. All idols are good looking. No hate, though. XD

There are raps that downgrade the quality of a song, so I disagree that raps are never unnecessary. Why add a piece of bad writing that doesn't fit the rest of the song? That's unnecessary. People accept whatever crap they get as long as they feel the line distribution was fair. Rap wouldn't be unnecessary if it actually upgraded the song.
@ruum9
@ruum9 Рік тому
Music wise it can be unnecessary but they meant that it had to be done because the rapper in the group needs to get lines. There are some rappers that can't sing well so they can only have rap lines and that's what makes a song messy. Imo that's why I think the position of the rapper in kpop should stop being a requirement.

the "dreamcatcher is underrated" opinion in particular annoys me because dreamcatcher aren't underrated, they're simply niche. not everyone likes pop rock/pop punk. unless there is some sort of radical polar shift in popular music taste in the next week, dreamcatcher will never be hugely popular as long as they keep their sound, and idk why their fans can't accept that.
@soft4taeng
@soft4taeng Рік тому
Exactly, they are niche and most kpop fans know about them anyway, not to mention they always get many views whenever they come back, so it's pretty ridiculous calling them underrated when there are groups out there that struggle to reach 1 million views. They still have a pretty good following and a solid fanbase even if their sound is not for everyone....

"the rappers can't sing so you can't say the rap was unnecessary" well maybe the companies should stop hiring untalented people just because they're good-looking and then make them rappers because they suck at singing... the songs are overflowing with unfitting rap verses and it's almost never executed well so yeah. i would rather the "rappers" get no lines than ruin the song structure
@arijeanz
@arijeanz Рік тому
on your 4th opinion: i think the reason this opinion is so prevalent is bc rapping rarely works in kpop, and hence people want groups without rappers. most kpop rappers aren't realllllly passable rappers either. the idea of the "all rounder group" or "all rounder idol" was popular in late 3rd gen to now, but now people are getting tired of it. we don't need groups where they sing and rap and dance. we don't need people that can do everything. what's the point of doing some many things if you can't nail any of them. it's better to be specialized at only one thing than try to include rappers and raps in your group because you want to make it "balanced"
@markigirl2757

opinion 5: songs CAN be objectively-ish bad. yes musical enjoyment is subjective, but music, like many other arts, has parameters for what is considered good and what isn't. overprocessing, bad mixing, lack of cohesion in either production or lyrics, the overuse of gimmicks/trends, etc these are all things that can and often do make music bad. now you can enjoy a bad song and don't let anyone stop you from doing it! but yes songs can be bad. i disagree w u there

I personally dislike sexy concepts in kpop because if they aren't directed by the idols themselves then they usually come from an ill intention. It 9/10 times isn't about being confident and exploring your sexuality but instead is for men to thirst at and results in a lot of toxic discussions where the idols are talked about like objects and are only loved for their bodies, and as you said the idols can be exploited and harrassed from performing in this concept. That's why I only trust groups like (G)I-DLE with this concept because they know what they're doing.
