The feedback to my last video (What English You Should Use and Why) was so positive, that I will use my GoPro more often now. And I will also start a series called "What English", where we go through racks of 8, 9, or 10 Ball and I explain what English I am going to use and why. Until then, enjoy this video!

thumbs up thanks for all your hard work. Gopro is really helpful love it, but could you not do both??? like picture in picture, have gopro the main, and off in the corner another view maybe, birds eye or your choice, I like above cam since you see the trajectory roll more) anyways great work , one last thing. why do you prefer 720p over 1080 HD? 720 is kinda blurry....

This is definitely the kind of information people want to see when they search for pool tips. Most of the videos on UKposts are 7+ years old and the editing/finish of your videos is very modern and refined. Love your channel and the content! Thanks for sharing.

I have to say , I'm a seasoned pool player yet I still have trouble with those shots time to time , I see others on UKposts showing similar drills but the difference with you and what makes your video better is your way of explaining it and showing where to hit it so good work , nice video.

Hello from the Maldives! Love what you're doing and covering here. And the GoPro view is amazing! Just a tiny suggestion, I think two very faint dashed lines vertically and horizontally on the middle of the cue ball you show on your shots would really help identify what and how much english you're applying for the shots. @buster5643
@buster5643 4 роки тому
Honestly thats not neccesarily a bad thing. A lot of videos of pros and teachers on here reccomend drills where your objective is to get the cue ball back to the center of the table. In theory you have the best chances of having another shot from center table, and in 9 ball youll more likely be able to at least score a good hit.

Great vid for everyone wanting to learn more about pool. The drill is definitely going to help alot of new players. But i wouldnt shoot the 13 ball like that. I feel that it will be too risky as it could hit the 15 or enter the corner pocket. What i would do is to put more right english so that the ball would hit the side rail n remove the risk of entering the corner pocket. But again this is what i prefer. Again great vid :) Edit: just fixed up my spelling. Not really good at it

Cool thanks Sharivari..this looks like a great exercise☺ I'll give this pool practice set up a go & try a bit of english on some shots! Btw I did try the jaw corner shot on the cue ball & 'gods honour' I actually got the shot first attempt with potting the 8 ball sitting over the middle pocket Yay!! However my 2 next tries didn't work even when I showed my Sister Yvonne.Luckily it worked on my 4th attempt..😆

For me what was very important while progressing in pool was learning center ball. It may sound silly but my comfort was in spin and that’s all I did. Little did I know how much my game lacked without basic fundamentals. And this comment may not apply to you but for those starting or just rely on shot making.. learn fundamentals!!
@Alton-x
@Alton-x Рік тому
Interesting point with the comment in the video about how little side you use to make the cue ball react like it does, do you have to adjust aim a lot or minimal adjustments
@TheJohnCooperShow
@TheJohnCooperShow 3 роки тому
Sharivari... you’ve done videos on spin/deflection before but I’m keen to know when you put side on a ball... how do you know how to compensate deflection with gearing side when aiming. Is it the case that say a long shot with side played firmly the deflection is 80/20 dominant. Whereas a shot played slowly softly you don’t generate deflection so much so it’s more 20/80 dominant etc.

Can u do a video to diffetent metronome beats n see difference different tempo makes. I goota slow down so how. Sometimes i run racks in 30 seconds. I cud run way more if i cud slow down. I just feel like i know how to hit every shot and not slowing down messes me up. I gotta find the right tempo. Seems when certain songs come on i always run out and i think its the tempo rhythm it causes.

Do you have any videos or advice on maintaining focus/ not letting outside influences effect your game? I can run out in 8 or 9 ball for my first 20 minutes on the table, but then I start getting distracted and miss EVERYTHING after that. Maybe I'm just not cut out for a prolonged period of shooting? It's really starting to take a toll on me just enjoying my time playing.

Great video, but keep in mind that other than the theories it's important to train on different tables and different opponent to give you the edge of adapting to new environment (table size, cushion, balls etc) you could be very good at your own table but on different tables you could be playing like shit, that's what the pro player have with their experiences, so train and play as much as possible guys 😁 good luck
@cueball5858
@cueball5858 2 роки тому
The videos are good but I always get the impression that his corner pockets are like buckets. Many of his shots would not have gone in on the tables I play on in tournaments every week, especially those on the section without GoPro. Maybe he's increased the corner pocket width by removing them and replacing them with side pockets, thus gaining an extra inch.

When do you use front hand english vs back hand english, going from the gopro view, looks like you only use back hand english (i.e. moving your bridge parallel rather than pivoting the cue)
@vinsentchiffer157
@vinsentchiffer157 4 роки тому
No, bro, pivoting the cue as in some would say as front hand english, will often makes your ball curve or even not going to the intended direction. Unless you have been practicing your pivot for years, just use the normal way to use english
@Kenny......
@Kenny...... 4 роки тому
Looking at the gopro footage, when u for example put right hand english u first seem to be feathering the cueball on the left side. Is this something i should do or is this just something one does to compensate for their flawed fundamentals?
