I'm a metalhead and this is excellent. Actually being a "metalhead" is just a phase. Most of us end up exploring every subgenre of metal until we start to appreciate a lot more experimental and the weird stuff. To me this is weird as fuck and it sounds good, and because of that I like it.

See, there's not actually much hate. It's mostly overblown by tabloid press junros who see people disagreeing if this is metal or not... Which it's not. Poppy has stated that she's post genre, and I think we should respect the artist on this one.

As an old school metalhead I love this album. She killed it live when I saw her in 2020

I was into pop and electro/dance music long before I ever got into metal, so I like seeing people blend the genres into new and fun things. This has an industrial feel to me though, almost sounds like a Rammstein style guitar riff.

Basically he emotionally abused the fuck out of Brittany Sheets (Mars Argo) while they dated (because that was a thing for a while) and eventually they broke up and had a huge fight over who got rights to the Mars Argo brand and music. Titanic Sinclair moved on to make Poppy, and essentially repeated what he did with Mars to her. I'm not sure if they dated or anything but he definitely emotionally manipulated and abused the fuck out of her too. While Titanic and Mars were having the legal battle over the Mars Argo brand, Poppy sided with him. It was probably because she was scared and wanted to be famous and thought Titanic was her only chance at holding onto her fame. In her recent statement, she admitted that she thought Mars was lying at the time but has since realized that Titanic is a despicable human being. Which is the reason why Poppy and Titanic have split as well and she's taken control of her own brand.

Every time I hear a new Poppy song, I think, "This is it. This is the one that's gonna suck. They can't all be great. The gimmick is gonna fall apart." And it doesn't suck. It holds up strong to most of today's metal, and it blows today's pop music outta the water. So far, I haven't heard a single bad song from the album "I Disagree." Shit is solid gold.
