I once had a dog, a labrador called Max, he was like a brother/son to me, we even shared birthdays. After two years, he fell ill to a tick desease, and had to be put on intensive care on the other side of the city that I lived in. He didn't made it. Died to heart problems hours after my first visit to see how he was doing. Couldn't even say goodbye to him. Everytime I hear this song I remember him, for I think this is, maybe, how we both felt, how both could have said our goodbyes, one way or another.

It's hard to say exactly what I feel when I listen to this song. At the beginning I'm washed with a wave of unfamiliar nostalgia, like I've heard this tune before and it brings me back to a younger me that due to diminished memory I sadly barely remember anymore. That in itself stings a little, but then the arpeggio grows as a saw synth and an angelic pad synth follows the chords, all I can see is myself staring at a reflection of my younger self and the few memories that I do have. He's looks sad. Then the lyrics step in and forces a feeling of emptiness and regret upon me, I feel like my young self has missed out on so much because of the way I was raised, but yet I'm being told thank you. But why? I can't feel that emptiness through emotion, it just hurts on the inside. Then the song cuts that moment of emptiness with its square leads creating a new melody, now I know I'm halfway through the song. I know it's going to end, I feel like I'm approaching the inevitability of that fact and I'm trying to brace myself because I know this part is the most painful. The drop kicks in and it hits harder than you'd expect after being exposed to the past parts of the song. I feel like what I am, who I am, my memories, my entire world flashbangs in front of me like a supernova, and I'm flying past everything that I've known, what I have been, every happy moment yet every bit of sadness and grief that I've felt, even now as a failed-to-launch adult I feel immense guilt for who I am. But even still the drop pins all that pain onto me and doesn't let me up, signified by the small silent cuts during the 9th pattern of the drop. That pain will always be a part of me, but then I'm reminded of my own confidence, the ideas that I've gathered overtime and the aspirations that I've held to despite who I am and the pain I feel. All the people who believe in me channel their power to me, in that moment it feels like I'm in a boss battle at the end of the world, battling the darkness that symbolizes the pain I feel and can't escape from, but I will always seal that darkness away, because I know that I'm stronger, people count on me, my younger self depends on me. The final part I see me and my younger self standing next to each other. We take a look around and realize that this is our fate, even though my younger self may someday be forgotten entirely, I'll live on in his place. I'll do what he wanted to accomplish, see the things he wanted to see and create new memories with friends that he never got to make. "Thank you." He says, it's the end of his world, and reassures me not to blame myself for who he was. But I'm the one telling him that I will surround who he was and give life to a world that we share. Inside me I still feel the pain of knowing someday even this memory may fade as a new me forms, I'm sad I have to let my old memories go, but time moves on, and I'll eventually make new ones as a newer me. Still, I'll never forget who he was and what we wanted, even though I can only barely remember my time as him. I want you to strive to be the best person you can be, for yourself and others. Make your world and surround yourself with dreams and never stop aspiring to be where you want to be, your younger self will thank you. It's okay to be sad, to be reminded of the pain you've been through and what you still feel inside. But use it as a catalyst for your motivation, see your true self and mark down your goals and just keep going, you'll get there some day. And as we transition our lives like caterpillars to butterflies, live on remembering what you strive for and never forget your past self. I strive to make as many people happy as possible. I can't please everyone, but I take pride in having them know they aren't alone, and being the best of me I can possibly be fills me with purpose. I'm not perfect, I'm just a normal guy with anxiety and mental issues, but I believe I'm here to spread as much positivity as I can, the world needs it. But anyways in the end, if I can describe this song in one word, it'd be Strive.

This hits different after the solar eclipse, like you are going about your day when suddenly the energy changes around you, day becomes night, birds stop chirping and it feels like watching a sunset, when the moon passes and you see the sun shining and the rays hitting the ground again .The best part is that everyone is happy during the time, we didn't think about ourselves, politics and the things that divide us, we just got together and make the most out of the once in a lifetime experience, we are truly united for the first time in a long time. It's honestly amazing what mother nature can do.

I'm so genuinely proud of myself, this went from being in my "It's not getting better" playlist, and now it's finally in my "Don't worry. It'll get better. I swear." Playlist. I've been getting into a better mindset, and though this song makes me cry, I've still been getting out of a really horrible thing that's been going on in my brain despite literally everything I thought about doing or have done to hurt myself. I feel like even if it's at a snail's pace, I'm getting SOMEWHERE at least.

reminds me when i was 10, it was a fantasy world i used for escapism when i had depression due to so many personal issues. i had my own character, my other friends that wouldn't leave. it was a world based off a game, more of survival. and when i escaped depression, the world i was in was a bliss, thanks, brain.
