FNaF wasn't popular when I got into it. People thought it was weird and stupid. Yet I had this one friend (who we'll call Rey), who would just infodump to me. I ended up finally watching Markiplier play it one day. I fell in love immediately. I got overly attached to the characters and found so much comfort in the franchise. I was very upset when it ended how it did, but when Security Breach was announced I was bursting at the seams. I don't know exactly when I started getting into FNaF but I'm gonna guess around 3rd grade, so probably around 7 years old. I was so into this game. Now that I'm back into it, I find out so much more about myself. Theres so many things I could have learned from myself back then. SB came out when I was having a hysterectomy. I was in so much pain, I had ovarian cysts, I was throwing up constantly and always on pain meds for it. I had a nephrostomy tube in my back for weeks. When I got home from having the tube placed, Mark had uploaded the first episode of him playing SB. I started watching, and I laughed so hard I cried. It hurt so bad, but I was so happy. Then, 3 days later, I had the tube taken out and was sent in for the hysterectomy itself. It was horrible. I couldn't walk, I was sick all the time. But at least I had my comfort youtuber playing my comfort game. I was 13 then. I'm going to be 15 next month. I have loved this franchise forever, I always will. Currently trying to get my boyfriend into it.

Soon, I found out about the lore and I was hooked. FNAF was an escape from my horrible home, I remember I used to wish I was one of the kids that had died. Now I am 14 (almost 15) and I look back and I am so thankful I had an outlet, an escape, a REAL home. Thank you, Scott Cawthon; I don't know where I would be without your creation.

I’m glad you were able to find an escape, kid. FNAF was never an escape for me, more a sort of guilty pleasure. I hated being scared, but still found myself playing it on my iPad at night under my covers, holding my breath so I wouldn’t scream and wake up my sister. My brothers and I bonded over it a lot as kids, trying to figure out the lore, arguing over who was the best character, all agreeing simultaneously that FNAF 2 had to be a sequel ‘cause Phone Guy was in it. We all wanted to believe Foxy was a good guy, one of my brothers’ friends drew human Foxy and Chica on a sticky note and let me keep it, I was of the extremely unpopular opinion that BB wasn’t that bad. So many memories, so many years, so much I’d do a thousand times over again ❤

FNaF was easily the biggest thing in my childhood, and although I am no longer invested since UCN I still engage every now and then with it. It came at a perfect time for me, when I was 12 in 2014, it was just perfect timing, I was young enough to fully invest time into it and discuss theories with friends abt it... but I also wasn't too young that I'd forget about the memories I had in it's early days. It also forged an early love for horror. Also Die in a Fire still goes so hard, it has no right being that good.

God, FNaF was such a huge part of my childhood (and still is) that the release of Security Breach and the fandom being alive again is super cool. I watched a streamer play through all the games mid-2020, far after I had gotten out of my FNaF phase, and that sparked it up again, and when Security Breach came out I full-on re-joined the fandom. I'm really tempted to re-watch Markiplier's playthroughs of 1-5 and all of GameTheory's stuff, as time-consuming as it is, but refreshing myself on all of that sounds fun as hell.

I feel old when people say this was their childhood. Regardless, my biggest memories were finding out about the concept of let's plays in general, specially Markiplier and JackSepticeye, because of this series and their many fan games. I don't speak english natively, so watching people play FNAF was a huge part of me learning english in a nutshell. Nowadays I can speak it freely and i even work as a freelance web dev for some people in USA remotely. As for "phase", it's hard for me to say. Of course the hype from the novelty is very gone, including for Scott i assume, considering how much he changed the format over the years. But of course I always took a look on every game released.

im listening to old fnaf songs and i'm actually crying. im sobbing like a damn baby. this fandom played such a role in my life. i was there when all of these songs were released. i was there when every game released. i remember taking my laptop to my friends birthday to play five nights at freddy's that night because she loved the games but could never get them. i remember dressing up as the marionette for her birthday several years later. i remember watching seven streams of sister location at once while my cousins were visiting us. i have memories of learning all these songs with my best friends and now security breach is out and im just so happy. the nostalgia hit me like a fucking freight train EDIT: i am sorry i can't respond to everyone but i read them all and this is officially the most wholesome and happy thread i have ever seen. you guys are making me cry even more!

its funny because it seems like there has been so many things that people liked in the 2010s era, whether it be movies, shows, and/or videogames, the people seem to just come back to what they enjoy when they were younger and it makes me happy seeing that. i felt the same sensation, the nostalgia is just an over flow with this and coming back to these songs is just... its more than anything to feel especially knowing the journey to where this game came from. Alot of memories I have with this that brings pure enjoyment and makes me happy to live another day during these days, but hey, to a new year people!!!

To everyone who's studying with this music: Checklist: • A bottle of water, at least 1liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate💧 • Your charger. You sometimes don't even notice that your device's battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time🔋 • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it's a late night study session, you won't wake up anyone🎧 • a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well.☕ • Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone , a few pens, paper or whatever you need.⌨ •Anything else you could need, what about a heat pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy 🐈 Reminder: After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it's cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me. You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. You can also listen to the audiobook while doing another thing, that's even better than listening to music while reading the book. 📖 I hope y'all had a good day, if not, that's okay too. Remember to take care of yourself and try to get some sleep tonight 😴🧸 I hand-wrote this my god it took a long time ENJOY!

Honestly, for a franchise that's all about child murder, I got into this fandom _way_ to young. I was like, 9 or 10. And I wasn't like like most other little kids who just liked the game, I was into the _lore,_ and my favorite Fnaf videos were the theories. I was a huge fan of old theorist like 8-BitGaming, Dawko (back when he made theories), Razbowski, Smike, PrettyGrumpyBear, and of course, Game Theory. Man, those were the days, when fnaf was fresh and new and interesting, something no one had ever seen before. Now it's commonplace for horror games to have cool hidden lore and secrets. Fnaf is still great, and I love it to bits, especially Security Breach, but the old days of Fnaf will forever have a place in my heart.

It's so strange to me to see so many people who were literally kids when they got into FNAF... because I was 19 when it came out. FNAF saw me through University, it inspired my final exam piece (I studied performing arts and as my final piece I did a one-person show about a parent trying to find out what happened to their son who went missing at freddy's). FNAF isn't a nostalgic trip back to childhood for me, but I still feel that nostalgia, that warmth and happiness associated with it. These fan songs were the soundtrack to my university years and the years after. They became my go-to playlist when I was driving my car, but I wasn't able to share it with anyone really. I had one friend in university that enjoyed it, but not on the same level (for her it was just an interesting video series by markiplier, while I got really into the theories, the lore, the songs, etc.). Everyone else would look at me confused if I mentioned FNAF, but it was still precious to me. And now, with Security Breach out, I've found that excitement again. I'm hitting 27... I feel like I'm too old for this fandom, but I don't care. It makes me happy, it inspires me.

When I was first introduced to FNAF I was in middle school, and I fell out of the fandom sometime around high school, occasionally watching Mark play kind of reinvigorated me for a few days; but not to the point that Security Breach has. I'd gotten rid of all my FNAF stuff, and even become embarrassed of some of it to the point of throwing out old drawings. I wish I would have kept them now, not only because it's good to see how far I've come with my art; but also because I miss them. The only piece of merch I have now is a giant foxy plush, which technically isn't even mine anyway. I just took it from my little sister because she ruined and lost my original Freddy one, and considering how expensive they are I assume it's a fair trade off. Either way, it feels good to be back; and now all my work friends will have to hear about my insufferable love for Freddy all over again.

i cant believe how far the franchise has come, ive been in the fandom since i was 6 or something, was terrified of them, had a nightmare about them (ironic), started to get into it and began to love them so much. Im turning 14 this year :) i remember that in 6th grade our class would play fnaf 1 when we had the time, and once a boy challenged me to complete night 5 😭( never heard about the game then, killed almost immediatly by Chica, hence the nightmare)

It was right before high school for me when FNAF came out. I remember _obsessing_ over it thanks to Mark’s videos. I listened to all the songs, read all the fics… good times, man.
@lunainky2212 роки тому
I grew up disconnected from other kids, I was never really into the things those around me liked. I never had an idol, or anything I was obsessed with. I also grew up in a very toxic household, which didn’t help with the whole ‘isolated’ thing. However, one day when I was really little. A kid in my neighbourhood showed me the fnaf 1 song, and remember it scaring me to my core. I loved it though, and I became more curious of it. So I looked it up, found/watched Markiplers play through, and joined the fandom just after fnaf 2 came out. Now here I am, years later. In semester 2 of high school grade 11, chilling in my room scattered with fnaf merchandise, re-playing the games. They still scare me, but now it’s more of a oh wow scare, if that makes sense. It inspires me to one day create my own games, and have an impact on people just like fnaf did.

I refuse to play Sister Location (I just don't like it.) but I have every other fnaf game, I love the games so much. Especially FNaF 2. I have around 20-30 hours on that game.

i was also disconnected from others even during high school and i never once joined a community on internet cuz im too stupid at internet and social media, the first time that i got hooked by markiplier and matpat fnaf content and now I'm still not able join the community cuz the weird shit fandom happens so yea I'm glad that i grew up with that 🙂

I remember when FNAF was a brand new game people were talking about. I remember it being the first time I was really part of a fandom. I remember staying up late watching Markiplier and Game Theory videos on it. I remember making my own theories. I remember talking about it with my brothers and friends. I remember being excited for the second game, the third game, and then the fourth. But when the fifth game came out, something changed. I don’t know if it was the games or me. But either way, I left the fandom that had been such a huge part of my childhood and early adolescence and hadn’t looked back. Now I’m 20. A lot has changed. I’ve finished school and lost most of the friends I had back then. I’ve even had my own job working with animatronics at Spirit Halloween. I’m almost old enough to drink alcohol. And now FNAF Security Breach is out and all the memories are rushing back to me. I’m watching Mark’s play through as of all the games I missed. It’s like reconnecting with and old friend. It’s taking me back to a time not just of FNAF, but of when my child soul was just getting into fandom and horror. It’s nice to see you, Fredy. My old friend.

Honestly for me it was after FNAF 4 but before the halloween update, just sort of lost interest. I don't mind big stories but the games lost that simple charm of losing track of everything and then getting scared shitless that was in FNAF 1. The flashlight ruined looking around the cameras and squinting to find where everyone was, having only 1 animatronic made keeping track of him easy 80% of the time and they just straight up got rid of keeping track of where everything was in FNAF 4. Fear of the unknown was what made FNAF popular, you could never let your guard down for a second. There was no ambience to tell you that you were in danger, because that ambience just kept playing: you were always in danger. Better yet the ambience was slow matching the "slow" moving animatronics on every night except stuff like 4/20. Truly gave the feeling of hiding from something and fighting for your life to not get caught.

My phase started in 2014 (i was 8) when i found the channel "Eleven" (I'm from Poland) i get intrested with the game and the lore. I had one friend that were making theories with (sadly he passed away from cancer in 2017) I watched animations from youtubers like Zajcu37 then i watched all fangames, read all books and i got so excited when i saw the FNAF movie will be in 2018 (I'm still waiting scott 😭) and now I'm here after Security Breach DLC announcement and FNAF+ official trailer. Now I'm 16 in October it will be 8 years since I joined the fandom. I wish i could go back in time when we all though that puppet is the mother of the first 5 kids... I miss those day's it was so simple.

Seeing everyone else's stories makes me want to share my own, so here goes nothing. I don't remember exactly when I got into FNaF, but I want to say I was probably 12-13 at the time. As soon as I discovered the fandom, I immediately showed it to my mom. Now, something I love about my mother, is that she actually knows how to bond with me. So she and I show each other things we like and usually they're pretty similar. So, when I showed her FNaF, she really liked it. Since we played Minecraft together, she helped me to make a roleplay map, which we had a lot of fun with, being that she would roleplay with me when I was a little kid and to this day, we still have a lot of fun with it! The map wasn't really accurate to the game, it was just several games and fangames compiled together. And eventually, we would remake it multiple times, until we got on a trend of remaking it once per year. We eventually left the FNaF fandom and decided to move onto other things, until 2021, when we decided to try making the map again. This brought back a lot of memories and lead us to eventually get back into the fandom. We now both love the games, music and so on. To be fair, I wish everyone's mother was like mine. In some parts of my life, she was the only person I had, and when she was, I felt like I had someone to talk to. Anyway, this is getting long. To everyone who actually took the time to read this, I hope you've had a good new years.

I'm currently crying so hard right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together collection of Five Nights at Freddy's songs ever. I can't believe how magical it is. That moment at 1:12 truly made me shed a tear. And especially at 6:34, that part was just so heart-touching. Words cannot describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax; it had insanely excellent detail. Oh, and we can't forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest ending I have ever heard, better than any of the songs I have listened to. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece in the history of music. It is a tragedy that this, it can't be called a song collection, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be unknown to most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle at its core; fear, suspense, nostalgia, horror. It connects with the listeners, individuals haunted by our own childhood fears. It remains vivid, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of songwriting and musical storytelling while making a profound statement on the essence of being human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of music I've come across in my life, and I'm definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply. This is an absolute masterpiece. I was brought to tears listening to these songs countless times. They have absolutely moved my soul, and I don't think I can ever be the same. These songs have changed my entire mental state. I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. I have forgiven all my enemies, and now I am a person of peace. I will move on, gotta move on, as the songs say. They are so inspirational, truly captivating.

I'm like slightly disappointed yet highly impressed with myself that I remember most of these songs and their lyrics. It's been seven years since this game came out and I'd got sucked into it. I was like 16 or 17 when I found it and it was a awesome distraction from all of the high school stuff. Now that Security Breach is out I've been infected with nothing but nostalgia and it's been fantastic lol.

Sobbing over all of these stories, so thought I might share mine. FNAF came out when I was 8. I was much too young to be online, so things that were popular were literally things that raised me. Markiplier had been my favorite, a true comfort and aspiration. And one day, he posted this random little indie game. Five Nights at Freddy's. At the time, I couldn't even begin to imagine what I was watching grow. FNAF songs, fan videos, fandom, books, and of course, the game were always there as I continued to grow. I found Game Theory because of these games, found Jaiden Animations. My taste in games, in content now is hugely shaped by these games. The songs pack so much nostalgia, even if I do listen to them regularly. I feel just so genuinely grateful to see this fandom booming again and seeing the impact these games have had on others like me.
