I miss the good old days when i was bopping my head to this song.. Now i cry and relate to it.

I had a childhood friend who had cancer, he and his girlfriend were good friends of mine. He was told the cancer was going away and he would live quite a long time, he proposed to his girlfriend shortly after that. We celebrated their engagement but on their way home they were t-boned by a drunk driver and she was hospitalized. She died about 3 days later. After that he went into a deep depression and the cancer started killing him quickly again, he died after about a year and a half. I was there when both of them died and I guess I never really think about them much anymore. He never was the same after she died and even though we were good friends, I feel like he wasn’t himself after that and it was difficult to be there for him. I was persistent and tried to be there but he just wanted to seclude himself and not see anyone. I didn’t even have anything to say to him the last few weeks he was in the hospital.

This song, honestly, made me cry for 2 mins straight.

I'm actually writing a book based off this song. Here's the storyline: A 21 year old guy that has severe anxiety and depression and he's dating the love of his life. He finds out he has cancer. He goes on bed rest but he hasn't slept in days because he's scared he'll pass in his sleep. He tells his gf how much he loves her and tells her to move on, then gives her a promise ring. She knows he's already too far gone, but she then develops anxiety and depression, just as he did, and then he passes. Fast forward 5 years, she's married to a new man, but keeps on her old promise ring. She shares her memories with the guy that passed to her 3 year old son. I'm a 12 year old and LOVE writing. Most of my books are based off songs lmaooooo tysm for reading this!!!!!!
