The mother of a pregnant librarian who was shot and killed in a shootout with bikers following a road rage incident in Florida told Inside Edition she’s heartbroken that no one has been charged in her daughter’s death. The incident on that late November day that led to the expectant mother’s death began when police said Sara Morales intentionally bumped into a biker with her car. She then called 911, telling the operator that three men on motorcycles were chasing her.

Exactly, that biker let his ego take control and followed the woman home and what's worse he had to shoot first instead of taking cover and realizing it's a mom just being scared. You can tell the biker was too trigger happy and wanted an excuse to shoot. It sucks because both sides did something wrong but one lost a life while the other gets away scott free.

The biker WAS the bad guy as he stalked her home while armed without having police authority to do so. How can you call someone retreating the person who "lost control of her emotions"? It's the guy breaking Florida law by trying to chase someone down to retaliate that lost control of his emotions. He did to Morales what Hannah Payne did to Kenneth Herring, and the only reason he wasn't charged was because his victim was Latina and not around to tell her side of the story. But I guarantee that if Derr had chased down a sister like this, it would be life imprisonment with the D.A. not hesitating to prosecute

I found more info on Wikipedia. Her mother said both that she was 5 months pregnant and that morales called her from the car and said to have her fiance's gun ready (she didn't call police till she was in the house). The motorcyclist and the witnesses followed her home and were waiting by the foot of the driveway for the police to show up. After she got home and got the gun, her mother also pulled out her own (unloaded) gun and followed her outside. Morales started waving the gun at the men and screaming at them. Four months later the prosecutor's office found the shooting as justified self-defense. Also, during her autopsy they were unable to confirm that she was even pregnant.

Inside edition video portion portrayed this like there was a possibility she was in the right... well witnesses say (its even in the description) that she intentionally hit that guy on his bike then took off. He followed the car down about 1-3 blocks to her house assuming its either a hit and run or she's just speeding to her residence unhappy she got in an accident to get her insurance proof and get it over with. He simply sat on his motorcycle calling the police...when suddenly she rushed out of the house with a gun and opened fire. He had a concealed carry permit, grabbed it, and returned fire, killing her, which is objectively self-defense. So, yea, she got angry and wanted to blame the motorcyclist for her mistake pulled a gun and it cost her life and her unborn child. @@Caitilizzie A private citizen cannot press charges; only the D.A. can make this decision. A collision also isn't a crime just because YOU think it is; this is for law enforcement and the D.A. to determine. Please take a driver's ed course before you do something silly. Do you even have a valid driver's license? Because if you did, you'd know it's ILLEGAL to follow someone because of a collision, it's called stalking. Hannah Payne was sentenced to life behind bars for following a fleeing motorist, so let's not pretend as if it's legal. If my car is totaled, I would be upset, but I can't ASSUME the other person did it intentionally and follow them home. A hit-and-run isn't intentional just because the person leaves (they could be suffering a medical emergency or anxiety attack) and it's not intentional just because you THINK it is or WANT it to be. How would he know she had a firearm at her home? Um, it's Florida. When you choose to intrude onto someone's private residential property DESPITE knowing you're unwelcome, especially in a state like Florida which allows homeowners to stand their grounds rather than retreat, you can't feign ignorance of the law. Fourth mistake was that she assumed they wouldn’t shoot back after she pointed a gun at them first (which any gun owner should know that if you bring a gun into a dispute, you just allowed yourself to be a potential target). I’m so sorry for the mom and the daughter, it’s really heartbreaking for them to have lost their loved one like that. But that doesn’t change the fact that that lady did everything wrong-hit somebody on a motorcycle because she couldn’t just ignore them yelling at her, ran from the scene after hitting someone, then got a gun and pulled it on them instead of just waiting inside for the police. Terrible, terrible decisions and it cost her her life. That’s not to say the bikers didn’t also make some poor decisions that day, but at no point did they threaten her life with their actions. She, on the other hand, threatened theirs TWICE in the span of just a few minutes. That’s not ok and unfortunately, the risk you take when doing so is that you might end up hurt or dead instead.

Very well put. Anyone who tries to argue the points you have made would have to be delusional. You were factual and correct in why the woman died, she died as a result of her own negligence.

I literally would have gotten her license plate and just gave it to the police. After a road rage incident it’s natural for a person being followed to fear for their life.

@@mielissa100ify Besides the fact that yelling at someone on the road is a constitutionally protected right, I would say it is also something that nearly all of us have done at one time or another. Hitting someone with our vehicle-especially a person on a motorcycle that has no protection like someone in a car does-is NOT something we’ve all done (or hopefully would even consider doing), and is not a protected right unless in the case of self-defense or defense of someone else. She was inside the safety of her vehicle, and she had no reason to fear for her life from someone yelling at her (for what I assume was something stupid or dangerous she had done on the road). The correct and appropriate response to being yelled at is to just drive away. If for some reason they followed her and continued to yell at her, then she should’ve made sure her doors were locked, called 911 and headed to the nearest police station. If you’re supposedly so afraid of somebody who is following you, you don’t drive to your house. SHE was the aggressor in this story, SHE was the one who got physically violent with the guy on the motorcycle, and SHE was the one who pulled a gun. The bikers shouldn’t have been yelling at her and they shouldn’t have followed her to her home, but one of them had just almost been killed by her, and I can understand not wanting her to get away. Don’t try to blame them for her actions.

Sadly you couldn't be more wrong , how many decent human beings have been murdered when trying to remain calm and respectful during what really is a small altercation. You can love your neighbour all you want but you can't choose them .....just saying. Have a nice day.

@@E-D-E2704 Well you could first off, find a safe place to pull over. After an accident, leaving the scene and arriving home isn't exactly the right move. She was on the phone with a 911 operator, so my thought is why go home and grab a gun / be violent, when you could simply keep talking to the operator and try to cross paths with an officer? That's something dispatchers do, but okay
