He is talking about slow westward motion of equinoctial point which is first point of aries and first point of libra along the ecliptic. A full cycle is about 25800 years.

How one can count 26000 years ,when your ancestral do not have an art of writing?It is hypothical ,as cannot be proved scientifically. Further more ,if we take in to consideration ,the movements of nakshatra in particular cycle,and these cycles are periodical ,how one can say ,that ,the happening of events are in the particular cycle/period. The basic assumptions are not based on Scientific Theory.

Most ancient societies world-wide with an interest in astronomy / astrology / ceremonial dates / hunting / farming determined the 26,000 year precession. This was by no means restricted to ancient India.

Name an ancient society that was talking about the 26000 year precession 8000 years ago. Astronomy originated in India and developed largely in India and Greece. That's where the rest of the ancient world learnt all of it's astronomy and math from, directly or indirectly.

@thedescanteer there are no written records from 8000 years ago. The earliest examples of writing are Akkaddian cuneiform from later than 3000 BCE. The written history of India that purports to show that astronomy developed there is from copied and recopied works less than 2000 years old, the same vintage as oldest extant copies of the Old Testament and containing similar mythological content. Ancient Greek records are non-existent before 800 BCE. Most of the writings from Ancient Greece were folk tales and mythology finally recorded by Homer, et al, around that date and others later by Herodotus around 600 - 500 BCE. The earliest Ancient Egyptian records in carved and painted hieroglyphic form from about 2500 BCE include works on astronomy and include info on the 26000 year cycle. Although more recent, Mayan pictograms also refer to astronomical data, including the 26,000 year cycle and indeed longer cycles. There can be no connection between the independent Mayan records and Mesopotamia.

Mathematically, the observation had to be made 8k years ago, and it also implies an astronomical calendar already in use by an extremely sophisticated intellectual system in the preceding 26k year cycle. That was the point here, your extraneous chatter notwithstanding. Egypt and Maya may well have had the knowledge of 26k year precession 2500 BCE or later, given the mounting evidence of links these two regions shared with India (including genetic) like all of the ancient civilised world.
