Marcello graduated at my high school. A world class talented man, hilarious comedy man. I remember my senior year, and he was a 7th grader playing soccer and hanging out. He always had a crowd around him laughing. Good to see him flourish.

As the white ex-wife of an first gen American Equadorian, my condolences on your breakups and send good vibes to each of you for healing! This is very relatable for me because Ecuadorian MIL had sisters who could shade me just as well as Mami. Mami’s sisters ALL married white men because (direct from their mouths) Spanish men were pigs. I denied and scolded them for being racist (against their own kind). They should seriously consider having Gabriel Iglesias host so they can continue the Protective Mom skit, and have Gabriel be an older sister, as well as requesting Pedro to come back to play mom again 🤣. It would also be hilarious to have the new girlfriend be fluent in Spanish, but not say anything in Spanish until the end 🤣

This skit was genius! Whoever wrote it was so spot on, especially throwing out the cookies to use the tin for sewing supplies, and the end, when they fall in love with her because she wants to feed their son! Classic Latina mom behavior! OMG!

As a Filipina, everything the tía, and mamá do is so relatable! My mom, my lola, and titas are the same way: cookie tin as a sewing kit, not understanding mental health, saying we never eat enough (except in my family they also will say we are getting fat, in the same breath)!

You wouldn't believe how many Southern Grandmas do this too. I remember being in middle school and visiting my great aunt and on her coffee table was a cookie tin with a half finished knitting project that looked to be about the same age as my Dad (this relative had somewhat of a hoarding issue) and knitting needles that looked very old. Going to her house kinda gave my the creeps.

I can’t😂. This reminded me of the time the doctor told my mom she had diabetes and she responded saying “keep it. I dont want that. I got enough going on.” And she was serious about it. She carried on not dealing with it and never affected her 😂

Clearly, there were a lot of Spanish-speakers in the audience, judging from the knowing laughter. But Marcello did a great job of scripting in a way that knowledge of Spanish wasn’t necessary to follow the dialog. Bien hecho!

I think that's what made the skit so genius. Their tone and the occasional english made it easy for everyone to understand, and those of us who don't speak spanish felt like the girl, who could clearly tell they were talking shit lol

Being a Latino raised in America, this sketch hit home on so many levels. And, yes, I grew up and married a white American girl. However, my wife was born and raised in Spain where her dad worked for 20 years. She didn’t move to the U.S. until she was 13. She is the one who taught our kids to speak Spanish.

THIS IS ABSOLUTE GOLD. I only took basic high school Spanish and probably have the conversational skills compared to that of a fourth grader but still understood like 90% of what pedro and benito were saying in this skit. Very well done. They are really onto something with this one.

yeah i noticed that too! it seemed to me that for a lot of the skit they were enunciating more than most native spanish speakers to get the main points across to those who only know a little spanish, because i only knew half the words but i knew exactly what they were saying the whole time. really genius and well done
