This match was so unbelievably clean and pleasant to watch. Ball striking of the highest caliber with a lot of flair on both sides, not just mindlessly slugging the ball and hoping to win the point. That’s what I like to see 👌🏾

I really like the fact Medvedev is never intimidated by Djokovic's greatness; he always believes in himself and comes ready to fight hard for the win. I think it's part of the reason why matches between these two are always so fun to watch.

I commented this earlier also that after Nadal and Fef, Med is the only guy who can challenge and push Novak to his extreme limits. Being a Novak fan i really like Danii a lot a lot.

In 3 setter yes. If you see last match when Med lost to Nadal in the last Grand Slam Final, you can get a lot of insights on why players recently cannot beat Novak. They have spent too much energy on the first two sets and in the final two sets, they are easily outplayed.

Always find medvedev’s volleys strange he hasn’t really been good at them but it seems to be improving. Well I hope so. He used to serve and volley sometimes back in 2019 on break points, but not as much now. I hope he can still have his normal game along with volleys. Let’s go Meddy

His volley looks weak and placement at best he never much steps in and hits a statement volley. Example when he hit two volleys in each corner and Djok got them both back and won the point with a lob. He just never crushed the volley and said booyah how you like me now face.😂

This is incredible. In fact there are no words to describe this match. Modern tennis is excruciating. Medvedev had him against the wall in the third set. How he came back to win is beyond me.

Medvedev had no chance to get to the semifinals of this tournament (He lost his prior 2 matches), still he played like it was a final. What an amazing respect for the sport.

It's meddys prblm in adjusting to the rafa play style with rafa pulling shots @ all the angles makes him lose his rhythm & game that's why rafa leads 5-1 against meddy.Out of all the now gen players,meddy is the best hc player winning 16 titles on surface & beating djoker @ USO final.

With how Novak has looked and him being the more complete player, I thought for sure that Djokovic was taking this match. Medvedev played phenomenally and forced Djokovic into making many more errors than youu normally would see. Djokovic played his game, but Medvedev was just too good this time. This was a well-deserved win by the Russian. Where was this Medvedev at the last 2 slams? As a Djokovic fan, you can’t be disappointed. The Serb has had a great year so far and if you were him, would you rather beat Med and win Dubai and lose in the AO or win the AO and lose to Med here. I think we all know the answer to that.

The incredible thing about this match is that it was a dead rubber. Djokovic had already advanced to the semis and Medvedev had already been eliminated. But they still produced this!

Will be interesting to see the new and improved Meddy. He was struggling with confidence during end of 2022 and also during AO. I guess he's back with confidence after 2 back to back titles. This one's going to be a real thriller. But, I still feel Novak will win for the kind of level up he does with his game when it demands. Novak is also the tie break king. So, unless Meddy can break his serve atleast 2 times in each set (considering that Novak will break Meddy's serve atleast once per set), its gonna be impossible. I mean, Hurkacz got the best serve on tour and he got broken in each set, so meddy is obviously going to be broken. But Meddy has the ability to break back and needs to do it not once, twice, atleast 4 times (2 per set).

Todos los juegos de saque del ruso Novak se los complico, tuvo muchas chances de llevárselo en dos set, a veces no entiendo porque se deja recuperar el partido, para sufrir tanto y ganarlo desgastandose, y a veces así los pierde. Ojalá trabaje con su equipo en ese tema, tratar de aprovechar todas las chances para cerrar el partido rápidamente. Y sobretodo con Danil.

Porque Novak, en este partido dio todo hasta el final para ganarlo, sabiendo que no tenía importancia y prácticamente sin físico. Pero porqué en la semi de Dubai, no jugo de la misma manera? A Danil después de lo que le hizo en el Us open 2021, y la burla de la lesión en Adelaida, tiene que ganarle hasta jugando a las bolitas. No quiero pensar que a Novak ya no le da el físico para vencer al ruso.
