I'm a now retired software engineer. I used primarily Java from the mid 90's until 2016. I like to keep up with all things technical, and I've noticed that Python is making huge gains in a number of areas and uses. I first came across a highly rated Python video like this, but it was 4.5 hours long. This video was exactly what I hoped to find. Very concise, not presented too fast at all for a seasoned vet of the trade. I've subscribed and will check back often. Thank you! Chad

Got a question. I want to learn both Java and Python, but my computer is real slow. I'm thinking can I learn these languages by downloading them on an external drive? I've heard of Python portable, but can I learn that and is that just as effective as the regular python? Or should I get a new internal drive with maybe 500 to 1 TB? Any help and direction would be most appreciated.

@@RobertSpiller I think you should probably do some reading on computer basics. First, why use a portable version? Your ide will take up more space than python will. Second, why not just install the drive into your computers extra HDD or SSD slot to avoid having to carry it around? And lastly, even if you choose to use it as a portable drive, you can still run python off of it as if it were a normal drive. Just add python to path and specify location. Doesn't matter where it is

Coming from Javascript and wanting to explore Python, the last thing I'd want to do is a tutorial for people just beginning to program as opposed to one focusing on syntax and intricacies of the language. No-one will read this, probably. But i wanted to put it here to motivate the guy who thinks he cant do it. I'm a complete begginner, Novice. Ive never code a thing in my life. I'm a green Newbie. or atleast I thought I was. I've been self teaching for a few weeks, but very very slowly. And I decided to watch this video to help introduce me to all the concepts, so that I have some exposure before i actually begin to learn them. But I'm at the 30 minute mark, and there is VERY little that I've not been introduced too. And now he's moving onto else/if/elif, and ive learned this already too. I just feel really accomplished, because it's something Ive always wanted to do, but never really gave myself permission to do.

that's what I needed. I didn't want to watch a whole course where they explain each thing for beginners because I need to learn python as quickly as possible and I already know the concepts. thank you really much.

This video was exactly what I needed since I already know C and most in-depth python tutorials go way too slow for someone that already has experience with C. Thanks a lot!

This video is so powerful, as a guy who has experience programing in C/C++, I always found those elementary Python courses too slow, not bearable, but this video quickly introduced how basic programing rules are realized in Python, I can really get the key points for Python in less than 1 hour!

Thanks! I wasn't able to attend most of a whole semester of python in online class due to personal issues. Thanks to this, and some prior knowledge in C programming, I was able to cram for the class's final project in around 2 days. Will post update if I pass the class. Wish me luck.

Dude! I watched this at 2x speed and just learned Python in 40 minutes! What an amazing little language. I've wanted these features for years. Finally, some simple advanced ways to manipulate data and no wasted extra symbols like var declarations or ;'s. Also I've always formatted by tab indentation in all other languages so no {, } for scope is so cool! Man, where have you been all my life Python? It would be great to do a video on anything bad or easy to do very poorly in Python. Awesome video! Subscribing for sure
