Just the smaller more technical muscles in ur hips to turn over and keep that leg stabilized, use the momentum, the second ur leg retracts from that fake front kick, turn your hip which will also ur your leg creating that torque, then simply release and come back to form. Don’t try to hit the head right away build up to it. It’s a really fun and rewarding kick to practice

We call this a mae mawashi geri (front roundhouse kick), I have never heard it called a question mark kick before. When I practice Kihon (basics) I always try to use the ball of the foot it is a lot harder to get right but when it connects it’s a lot more powerful it also protects the shin bone as the muscle is engaged to protect the front of the shin. I would only use the instep when sparring to protect my partner from serious injury.
@user-ns4zm8qe9pРік тому
May I ask what art you practice? Just out of curiosity

@Drikkerbadevand5 місяців тому
So instead of using a big piece of thick bone you kick with your foot which is made of, what, 23 tiny bones and countless little muscles and ligaments that can easily break. OK
@shingitai58825 місяців тому
@@Drikkerbadevand I didn’t say you kicked with the whole of your foot I said you kicked with the ball of the foot the same part that almost all martial arts use to do a front kick. I am sure you have used the ball of your foot using a front kick haven’t you? With regards the shin bone if you don’t condition it properly and don’t engage the muscle before using it, well it can break quite easily. If you don’t believe me have a look at the Anderson Silva fight when he broke his, and you can hardly call him an inexperienced fighter. Just so you know there is actually twenty six bones in the foot, thirty joints and a hundred and six ligaments. The instep which is used in the film I would only use during sparring to protect my opponent this is very common and is again used by most martial arts during sparring look it up yourself if you think I am wrong.

It’s also a great way to over extend your hip in the kick. This kick should only be practiced if you have a bag or something to land the kick into. It has a bad habit of making you pull your kick back mid kick over stressing the actual hip joint if you don’t have something to land it on.
