Rainy Sunday with Tulip, Petunia and Stormy

Thank you Carolyn, Fern and Linda for the donations! We were able to make a big purchase at Tractor Supply for more strong enclosures and another large pool! Things are starting to take shape.
Gave Petunia a short outside time with the volunteer sunflowers grown from birdseed in our yard. Tulip had a nice long swim in the rain and I was able to get some beautiful Stormy daylight video. She is looking so good and was out while Tulip was swimming next door.

Oh my goodness!!❤❤❤ Precious Petunia in the field, bless her little heart! Makes me teary-eyed to think she was found like that all alone🥺…thank heavens for all who participated in her rescue!🌻🌞And Princess Tulip swimming in the rain, wondering why those sweet potatoes aren’t going to her…(don’t worry, mommy will give you yours!)☺️🍠❤️🦫 I so hope Tulip and Stormy can become friends, Stormy looks lonely (I know you have to proceed slowly and cautiously, of course.) Seeing Petunia in the field really hits home at how tiny and vulnerable she was, all alone out there. 😢 I'm sure Holley said somewhere that Petunia has doubled her weight since arriving, so she was even tinier when she was found. Just a ball of fur, but so full of courage.

Precious Petunia standing among the sunflowers is calendar worthy, just like the ones of darling Tulip you photographed. Sweet Stormy is looking so beautiful and comfortable now! She would make a great addition to a beaver calendar. Everyone who wants one, raise your hand!! 🙋‍♀️ Also, Holley, is there a chance Stormy can be released onto your property instead of releasing her somewhere else?

My heart is singing!!! Look at Stormy! Out and about in daylight and confident enough to settle down to some noshing in plain sight. She is *SO* beautiful!! I chuckled at Petunia looking at those plant stalks like......"are these trees?". 😂 And Tulip looking very put out at the sweet potato situation. Don't worry Princess Tulip - there will always be a very generous allowance of sweet potatoes for you. 😊❤

I just love beavers, they're practically the perfect animal. Drop them into virtually any ecosystem and instead of being invasive they'll boost the biodiversity and improve the water way quality of the entire area. Plus they're adorable. Couldn't ask more from an animal.

Petunia out and about... what a beautiful sight! She looks so adorable walking through the small sunflower forest.... It's great to see her getting on her hind legs and sniffing around. What a darling little thing! Tulip is looking as great as ever. She is so feisty and just can't help being ultra cute! As for the footage of Storminette... it feels like witnessing a recording of the Yeti or some other rare or never seen creature.... My jaw was down on the floor the whole time I was watching her... Stormy eating sweet potatoes during the daylight! This does my heart good. She’s progressing magnificently under Holley’s watchful eyes and compassionate care. It’s like a miracle! Petunia outside among the sunflowers is so beautiful. She has a great life, with lots of variety and stimulation! Tulip is our bathing beauty. She’s an amazing beaver, busy growing up! I couldn't find anything where she said it was finalized. So it's just an assumption and I'm sure she would have made an announcement if it was finalized. 0:47 - that rearing up at the vegetation line is super interesting. I've seen young wild ones do that. They'd cross the park path and then start pawing at plants until they found a tree. Usually a sapling. Beavers will go to work if you just sit still on a camping chair around sunset.

I first saw beavers when it was raining. I was about 7 years old and it was in Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C. I was so impressed with their lodge, a huge mountain of sticks and branches in the middle of a large pond!

She's near the gulf coast in MS so it's quite warm. I imagine it's at the very southern edge of the Beaver range.

Holley, do you grow perennial sunflowers, aka Jerusalem artichokes? They are low glycemic & very prolific! I bring them to the wildlife rescue in WNC. I grow catnip for the cat rescues here too.

Still working on understanding if Stormy is dealing with an underlying spinal issue. We are hoping it will resolve with good nutrition and weight gain. However if it persists we will go back in for more x rays.
