Chris, how about using the Rpi3B+ as a Unifi Video monitor for 4 cameras to a TV rather than a HAT video? Also, So many PoE options cheaper than the PoE HAT.

Chris, The downside to running FreePBX on the PI is that you don't get some of the really important modules that really complete a FreePBX system. The reason for this is that the zend license stuff that is used in FreePBX only runs on x86 hardware. If you can live without some of the commercial modules then the PI might be an interesting alternative.

Can't understand why they have yet to put USB 3 and 3.1 on the new Pi's. 2.0 is dated tech. Great video as always Chris!

I don't have the source atm but they have said that with the current way they are able to build them so cheap usb 3 isnt possible

great stuff Chris... a Project idea - How about a raspberry pi with a small display and may be one more wifi adaptor? that way any captive portal thing can be done on the device and once internet and vpn(PIA for example) is connected, it can be shared over wire or wifi with clients?

I wish there was a GUI on RP to do all that an stitch together some of your old RP videos to make it happen - of course I am not smart enough... having to do captive portal authentication on other device basically leaves you with the time between vpn connection establishing from the point which you have internet, leaves you insecure and whatever that has to go out through insecure internet would have gone out!! hope you can give a service to community by developing this project.

Everyone's mileage will vary - for me, I've never had a Pi go for more than 2-3 months without some sort of issue.

PoE Stands for Power over Ethernet, so a PoE hat powers the RPi thru landline ethernet.
