According to Floyd's haters moving away from the ropes is running.... Let me see yall fight someone while your back is against the wall. Almost every top fighter he fought tried to lock him on the ropes and everytime floyd felt ropes on his butt he moved away... According to these casuals it's called running.

There was no issue of running by Mayweather. That is a legit move. The problem was with hugging. He should have been disqualified for overhugging the Pacman. He should have been there fighting Manny. Not hugging. The truth is, he saw Manny as both a Teddy Bear and a touchscreen celfone. He was overly hugging his opponent or if not, he was just contented to caress or touch Pacquiao if he wants to connect. What was he thinking of the Pacman? A touchscreen?

@@simimik. Ok let's get into the pac fight: Before I say this I take nothing from Pacquiao, I respect him. But during that fight with Mayweather all pac did is try to lock Mayweather on the ropes all night. ALL DAMN NIGHT! Everytime Mayweather felt ropes he quickly got back to the center. Now the so called "hugging" part: Let's say you are standing in the corner of your room. You have a wall on your left and right. Now someone is coming to punch you while you're in the corner, what would you do? The smart answer will be to get out of the corner. But you're blocked because if you move left, you have a wall blocking you. If you move right, you have the other wall blocking you, SO YOURE TRAPPED! You can only get out by moving forward, but someone is coming to punch you. So the only thing you can do is push the guy so you can quickly get out to have more room to fight. BUT in boxing you cant push but you can clinch, that's what Mayweather did. Everytime he was Trapped in the corner of the ring he clinched pac and turn pac around so his back is facing the center. Once the ref came and separated them Mayweather was able to move backwards towards the middle of the ring. Mayweather won that fight because he kept the fight in the CENTER OF THE RING!!!!

True....it's insanity that he trained floyd for so long and didn't get 1 accolade when floyd is undefeated. ..instead stupid freddy roach got them and the guy never ever trained a fighter from the ground up,only ever trained fighters that were already talented and built ....Roach isn't even in the top 10 trainers imo.......Canelos team are the best out there right now I think...

Mayweather did not throw a punch unless he FELT like it was necessary. That's why most of his punches land. He likes it when his opponents are aggressive because then he can see a rythm. He just watches them as they throw shots inaccurately.

I grew up in Grand Rapids, Floyd is one reason I took up boxing at age 30 (im 40 as i type this) I wanted to get back in shape and i had to experience being in the ring just to get a glimpse. I was terrible but the 2 yrs I trained and fought gave me an incredibly profound level of respect for ALL boxers not just Floyd, I really had no clue what it took to get in shape or the intensity of being in the ring, not just sparring but competitively as well during golden gloves under the lights at the National Guard Armory and The Delta Plex. It was cool that one of my trainers Randy Sutter had been involved in MGGA for decades was there to watch and help little Floyd grow into TBE. They all knew very early on that he was cut from a different cloth, including the those that came up with Sr and Uncle Roger during their amateur careers said it was apparent early on that little Floyd was on different level. Randy said "yeah Floyds been training like theres nothing else to do since he was a kid, pretty much always first to get to the gym and last to leave. He loved boxing, he was 10-12 and making older fighters look lost in the ring." Didnt mean to ramble ons, thats my FM story yeah im a homer when it comes to floyd but Im not as bias as some may think especially after my golden gloves experience, I had no idea how good he truly was until after that.

I've always said the Cotto fight was a real tough fight for Floyd. Don't get me wrong, he definitely won the fight in the later rounds, but it was a grueling brutal battle. It was telling that he stopped using Roger after that fight. He knew the fight was too close for comfort. Floyd truly earned his money that night.

One of the best but not the best ever..In my opinion Floyd was too focused on staying undefeated and didn’t get to fight the best opposition..Floyd didn’t fight a Cotto in his prime.. or manny pac man and he ducked winky wright and he lost the first fight to Jose Luis Castillo. However I’m not taking anything away from Floyd certainly one of the best but not the best ever.

I think one thing people should respect Floyd for tho is that he’s the definition oh hit and don’t get hit and get a bunch of money while doing so. You have to respect him for that atleast.
