I have a number of the RCWL-0516 sensors around inside my home. I find that their are too sensitive in some cases for my purpose of measuring occupancy of a room. For example, I have one attached to an ESP-8266 -based "nightlight" plugged into the wall in a spare bedroom used as a home office. It detects me moving around in the room on the floor below. The floors are all wood construction. You may have issues with windows since many of them have metallic coatings to help with IR heat loss; I notice this affects various high frequency RF signals. I get better signals on my cell phone with the signal going through my outside wall vs. when I'm standing right in front of the window (that's in the path to where I know the cell site is located.) I would imagine this same effect would impair the high frequency RF signals the RCWL device is using (I think around ~3GHz or so?)

What is at the end your recommendations about the benefits of each sensor ? XYC-WB-DC have a bigger range -> open space. Inside a room is this still an advantage ? XYC-WB-DC seems difficult to be sourced, 5€/pc on ebay

That was a nice test, please do test how to increase the time atleast to 15 minutes on those, I could figure out that

I wouldn't know how to increase the time, for my needs it is best if the time is as short as possible. I would use an Arduino or something similar to control the timing after the sensor put out the signal.

@@arduinoob7785 does it sense movement from non human object like woods or metal? i nneed somethinh that detect human presence only

@@adamoryza Yes, I think it does detect non human movement. I do not know any sensor, that does react on humans only.

I did it by attaching a capacitor to the pins on the back, look in the datasheet . Different value capacitors give different delays
