I was born in November, about a week before thanksgiving. My mom took me (A WEEK OLD) to the family gathering for my dad's side of family. My dads side is huge- regularly 50+ people at every holiday. My mom was getting hounded by people she never met to hold her super brand new baby, and she just scanned around looking for someone she recognized- and she saw my great grandmother. My mom just said "great grandma gets the first turn!" And handed me to her. That got people to relax a bit and give us space. Because of this story I've done my best not to ask anybody to hold their baby- if they want me to, they'll offer.

I just adore the gentleness with which Kriss does Jessica's hair. So much domestic family love in it. It's nice
