This song reminds me of when I was a child, sitting in the back of my dad’s car as he drove and played this in the CD player. I remember looking out the window, it was a summer evening and the golden light was beginning to filter through the delicate light blue of the sky. Your dad had a great taste in music then. Also,..you have a great way with words. I could see that beautiful view, as the way you described it. 😌 I grew up with my dad listening to old rock,...he'd always be singing to me and trying to get me to dance,...from beast of burden, to kid rock, to some Marley, and some oldies like my girl. I used to shy away from him, and get embarrassed, especially if I had friends over....but dang those were actually the good times,....and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. I'd give anything for him to be here now, acting goofy, and singing to me.

I honestly think this may be the greatest Red Hot Chili Peppers song of all time. Obviously they have plenty of other insanely good songs, but there's just something special about Scar Tissue. The lyrics, the guitar solos (especially the last one), the meaning behind this song (knowing everything the band went through right before this time). It's beautiful.

When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. My parents were both addicts, as a child, the RHCP helped me understand the mind of an addict, and this song helped me see that I’m not the only one lookin down with a birds eye view of the world. So many of their songs helped me through the hardest times of my life. I am planning on getting “I’ll make it to the moon if I have to crawl” tatted on me because growing up the way I did made me strive for a good life, without music like this I’d probably be lost or even dead. my dad passed away when i was a baby, my best friend and her dad was best friends with my dad since they were kids. her dad lived out in the country and when my dad moved from california, he brought all this new music with him, including RHCP. for my birthday in the mail i got three discs. my best friends dad sent them and they had music that my dad and him listened to as kids. out of all of them i liked RHCP the most. scar tissue is my favorite song, it makes me think of him. i miss him and i don’t even remember him, but i know he was a great person and loved my mom so much. red hot chili peppers makes me feel like he’s with me, and like i knew him. thank you, red hot chili peppers.

I remember when this song came out on the radio. It was summer, and I was off of school and there was a public pool down the street that me and my brothers went to pretty much everyday. The lifeguard always had it set to the alternative rock station. This song would play at least once while we were there, and the radio DJ said "I have no idea what this song is about, but it sounds good!" It was just the perfect vibe to just chill. No homework or anything to worry about. Just walking over to the soda machine still dripping wet, bobbing your wrinkly toes to the beat.

I used to listen to this as a very depressed suicidal teenager. I couldnt understand why i was being tormented so i kept listening to this song over and over to make sense of it. I am now 30 and have 3 kids and now when i hear it it makes sense and im very releifed that i had my children they brought light and life into me
