DONGEE'S human DAD really taught & raised him well prepared for going back into the wild through a "half-way" home 1st. It's amazing how his DAD taught him how to hunt small fish in the pond by moving his hand side to side while DONGEE's head/spoonbeak followed his hand's movements.

This reminds me of when I saved a bunch of baby birds that turned out to be crows. 🤣🤣🤣 my mother was so mad at me! She wouldn’t let me keep them so I brought them to a bird sanctuary. The lady there was laughing at how concerned I was for these “common” birds. But 16 year old me felt like they were so special.

That’s called ‘imprinting.’ In his/her bird brain, that human man is parent/mate/everything. Kind of made me giggle because the man seems disgusted with poo all over his place & a little scared of the spoonbill’s claws, but his good heart wins out!

I rescued a pigeon and a catbird, and both of them turned out to be surprisingly good w the poop situation. The pigeon liked going back in his cage often, so that was where he did almost all business. The catbird liked the shower and his sleeping box for his business. Idk if I would've been smiling if I was going all over the house cleaning.

I've never seen a bird like that before. It's running around with him like a cat or dog, he's got a real good relationship with the bird, it was nice that it recognised him when he came to visit, i hope it managed to get back to the wild and is living well with other birds. It's nice to see people looking after wild animals. I've brought in three ill hedgehogs before and while one of them sadly passed away overnight, the other two made a full recovery and i released them into the nature reserve near my house. Taking care of sick wild animals is a sign of a nice person i think.
