On the one hand, great idea, people do that for free and for fun anyway, but on the other hand, i definitely think if EA holds a contest to replace base game houses, they better pay us to essentially do their job for them but better

well i mean isn’t that just video games in general, over time the devs add more features until the games finished and then it’s actually a complete game…

@@Toadette- tbh cars is the only thing we're still missing i can understand why we don't have; we had them in TS3 because it was open world and it made it so much easier to move around, meanwhile the walk-able areas in TS4 aren't that expansive and most aren't designed to accommodate cars based on how the streets work. it'd be a humongous amount of work to make cars backward compatible with all packs, or lock cars to newer worlds only which would suck; it's not impossible to have them added now, but more than likely unfeasible due to the sheer amount of work to make them work now.

Yeah, I am not a fan of the standalone wall but I always build some kind of entry to the house and not the front door opening right into the living space. Coz that for me is typuc only of much much smaller houses in the UK where it makes sense to save space

It’s also easier to put the stairs there. Saves me the hassle

When you live in a warm climate, it's not needed so it can be overlooked. No need to make a gradual shift between temperatures.

Its called open concept, its a very popular design people use when they want their homes to be more open and welcoming. Thats what it is, i really enjoy the open concept with kitchens and living rooms, but i do like to have some sort of seperation with the entryway and the rest of the house

It makes it feel more closed off imo

We have open concepts here too guys, just doesn't seem very hygienic and eastetic to waltz into your living room with dirty shoes, coats etc.

She just must really love open concept flooring. Plus, she lived in Florida, so to piggyback off what another person wrote, separate entrance ways/foyers aren't necessary in warmer climates, so I'm guessing she wasn't too exposed to it growing up enough to keep them in her builds. In my case my U.S. home did have a foyer, so I include them in all of my builds. I'm also not a fan of open concept, which is very overdone in home design shows here. If she watches those kinds of shows--which I believe she has mentioned that she does--she gets more exposure to modern builds with them for inspiration.

For a base game build that's a step up from the starter homes, it's always been one of my favorites. I got a lot of fun out of playing this with a family of a young adult brother having to parent his teen brother. It made an excellent Bachelor-bachelor pad for them. That "hole for a pool" was filled in with the two rocket ships the elder brother got as an astronaut/rocket scientist.

Same here! Im actually shocked that Kayla found this to be her least fav base game build. I thought this was one of the better builds out there when the game was first released 🤣

i don't think it's actually her least favourite I just don't think she could think of a title for what she was actually doing

apparently a mirror facing you while you sleep invites spirits to come see you and watch you, just like having your chair face your bed while you sleep. also kinda like mirror facing a mirror is a portal, idk if i believe this stuff but just from what i’ve heard

@@allisonpierce9012 I’ve had some spooky nighttime experiences that went away when I took the mirror out of my room. Causation or correlation, I don’t know.

I didn't end up finishing the video after the roof change and the living room wall removal. Without keeping the "bones" of the house, it removes the challenge of it. Of course Simsie can create what she enjoys, which many people enjoy watching, just not my thing.

@@lenamichalik1211 Well, these are just little things I notice that aren't really the best. (I'm really realistic, so the next things what I list are my thoughts as how this house would operate in reality) I'm sure I wouldn't put the desk facing the window, firstly because of how the sunlight would light up the desk or the computer, secondly because the person who are sitting at the desk she/he wouldn't see the person who steps in the house, and just generally people doesn't like the feeling of not seeing what's behind their back. This rule also implies when you have your working desk in a room (a little bit of feng-shui). The roof bothered me at the beginning (it was great first with the asymmetrical shape, then when she made one roof ridge it became normal and boring, and of course some people like that, but nowadays (unfortunately or not) they are moving towards those kind of roofs how it looked in the first place), but it eventually came out okay. I don't like the fact how little sunlight goes into the bedrooms because of the window's shape. I'd definitely change the windows. I miss some sitting place in the hall and some other place for example a wardrobe for the coats or something. In the main bedroom the bed's placement was perfect at the beginning, now one person has to walk more to get to the other side of the bed, and it's just simply better if you have your bed's end looking towards the place where the people come from. But it's great that she put the bed in a place where you can't see it from the door (it's important because of feng-shui rules). I think the bathroom cabinet's shape is awful, because this is a medium sized bathroom, and you want to have as many space as you can for bathroom stuff, such as towels, cleaning products, make up products and many more. Also the bench in the bathroom is a waste of space, I would put a washing machine and some bigger cleaning products there like a vacuum cleaner or a mop, and I'd put the bathtub further away from the door, because now when someone is taking a shower and another person accidentally opens the door she/he can see the first person in the bathtub right away. By moving the bathtub in a different location the chance for that would disappear. And speaking of the bathroom door, from the living room it's totally exposed. Maybe it's just my f*cked up thinking, but I like putting the bathroom door in a little hallway or somewhere where it's less exposed for public spaces. I'm sure you wouldn't like that situation where you'd come out of the bathroom and immediately everyone could see you from the living room. The unnecessary wall what she destroyed in the first place was there for a reason, because it helped separate the hall from the living room. I think the last thing I don't like is the unnecessary cube shaped empty spaces in the kitchen. I think it's a waste of money and space. But atleast she kept the kitchen near the bathroom. It's important because like this you don't have to pay a lot for the plumbers to make the water pipes go all through your home. The smaller the distance, the less you have to pay. Other than these I think the house shape is good all in all, maybe it's too big, but that's not that big of a problem. Yeah I think that's it. :)

I think in past videoes or live streams she has said she doesn't want to use the tool mod because not everyone has access to it, and then also because she feels like she has to explain it anytime she uses it which just becomes extra things to have to handle in her videos. It's why she plays mostly vanilla. (I on the other hand love tool for sizing up rugs and tvs too lol)

And give me a lot of ideas where I don't have to do the full reno but I can tweak a room or two for big effect.
