Cool! That reminds me of my grandpa he was always fixing things and I would go in the garage with him and look at all the little mechanical bits an pieces he had, organized in those tiny little cabinets, some screws still in the original packaging from the 50's. He passed away ages ago unfortunately but now all of those shelves and toolboxes are in my basement work table and I use them to this day

Wow, you can still get spares for this? The sticker, sidewalls, hubcaps and seat insert probably cost more than five of the new cars did in 1960. Well done, a beautiful refurb job (this went w-a-a-a-a-y beyond a simple 'restore' which implies back to factory standard. This is collectors' level shit, a really great piece of work).
@elizabethpemberton8445
@elizabethpemberton8445 Рік тому
The sidewalls can be done relatively simply at home using silicone molds (material easily obtained at craft stores) cast from an original. You’d need to do a little legwork to get the right rubbery sidewall formula, as resin isn’t flexible enough, but it looks like a simple piece to cast.

Ok, first off I thought "A Nylint roadster?" . Then I watched it. Good night, the camera work is as good as the restore and the restore is incredible. So many times I thought it was just about done and then you pulled out some other bit of magic out of your hat. Vacuum forming a top? That is awesome. In case you wonder if this praise is hyperbole,let me tell you right now "it is not". This was one of the best I have seen to date. It was worth the wait. Thank you.

Personally, I liked this video alot. I think it was very creative the way you showed a wrecker tow in the "next" project. This car means more to me than some of the others, as I still have my roadster from when new, early 60's. Another toy saved by Mom. I noticed that it has an interior. Mine does not. In fact it doesn't even have an opening. Perhaps an earlier version. Also my complements on the manufacture of the roof and the wind screen frame. Both are very close to the original. Beautiful !!! You did not seem to know that there was a small rear window opening. No matter , Still a Beautiful job !!!

When I saw this poor little thing rusty and slaughtered I never could imagine a second that you would be able to fixe it ! And when I see the result as always I think that you are a true wizard !!! It's an amazing job well done ! I don't know this label of toys: I think that it don't sold in Europa. Your new color of enamel are beautyfull and the blue that you used for this job is georgous ! Thanks you for all yours videos.

Though Candy paint is my ultimate fav, this metallic gave it a run for it's money. Absolutely beautiful paint 😍 Edit: And who would've thought watching paint dry could be so awesome! (It's the highlight for me, actually)

I loved the special camera effects and special angles. You showed us several new processes, which was really cool. The intro was a bit too long, and probably added extra time to your video production time. This restoration had some extra wow on the final reveal! Have you ever had to repair or replace one of the tabs? Or have you some secret magic spell you chant to keep the original tabs from breaking?

I can't even tell you how much I appreciate you filling in the rust holes. It's so disappointing in restoration videos when they pan over the finished product and it has all those pockmarks in the paint. I always want to shout "cheater!" Seriously, amazing job!

I’ve always wanted to ask when you buy new parts for something is it direct from the manufacturer or is it somebody that took theirs apart? Eg the tires and sometimes the glass

I just stumbled upon this video and I must say that the attention to detail for this restoration is way beyond my expectations. I'm sure many of us have some memories of playing with the toys which were made of metal or wood. Those were the days when cheap plastic was not even was being used for cattle feed packages. Looking at this toy car took me back to my childhood
