Don't threaten me with a good time. I've been eyeing off our "Rumpus" room now that our kids are older for my lab and office. This just makes me want it more.

A few folks have asked about the workbench. I bought it from ULINE, they call it their "Deluxe Workstation" with ESD top and customizable accessories. I love it, super well built.

Hey, nice lab! Real deal pro stuff. Louis Rossmann would have liked that :) Also, seeing DN3D running some demo, and then the Win95 screensaver, really was a trip down the SIMM 16MB lane... I played a lot of PC games in the '90s.

For caps you may need to get the low melting point alloy that melts on 138C so it will be much easy to take out caps from motherboards the low melting has bismuth alloy

Thanks! Space is definitely a luxury. But there is also something to building a nice little lab in a cosey cave to nerd out in, lol. It's so cool meeting so many folks all over the world who are getting into or back into this hobby.

Thanks! It is a bit of an investment but good thing is once it is built the computer parts to work on are usually dirt cheap or free from ewaste.

Great vid! What's that tiny little CRT at the top of your stand?

I can't tell you that particular model obviously, but such monitors were mostly used in server racks i.e. and in that case were mostly black & white tubes. I also saw such monitors on supermarket counters and such and in that case IIRC some were color tubes.

I just checked out the availability of the KSGER T12 here in Germany and found that it's not sold here apart from on Amazon under a different name but with the KSGER branding on the product fotos. Most importantly though one Amazon reviewer claimed it to be a very danerous device. This is his comment translated by myself: "The sale of this device is generally not permitted in Europe. The device cannot be sold because it has life-threatening safety defects. For example, the metallic case is not connected to protective ground. The isolation distances within the device also make me thoughful." I'm no electrician though, so maybe you could check it out and if in doubt get rid of it and make a video about the issue.

Found another review, that mentions the safety issue only exists in models with internal power supply (which according to the reviews dies fast anyway) and so doesn't exist in models with an external power supply. He also mentioned that the T12 tips and controlling electronic are very good and least in version 3 of the device.

Interesting, thanks. I will open it up and check it out. I love it, it actually came recommended by a long time Apple engineer.
