For dressing trimm and rubber (even tires) you can try Koch Chemie PSs, it's amazing. Non slippery (it's silicon and oil free), goes for long time and also it is antistatic, hydrofobic and UV protectant. It stayed on my tires for 1-2k km or 2-3 weeks, and many longer on my exterior trimm...

Holy crap thats a lot of plastic trim! Never realized that. Work Stuff brushes are the very best. I really like them. Phil, is there any protection at all on the black plastic trim from the factory? Or is it "there you go customer". It seems very cheaply made on all types of cars. Hi wife!

Is an apc pre soak safe on ceramic coatings weekly, what do you recommend for coated vehicles for normal pre soak?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 12 днів тому
Hi. The apc rinsing method is not for regular maintenance or washing. It’s only for initial details. For coatings I recommend using a dedicated pre wash like Koch Chemie Active Foam or Super foam. They are very concentrated and work great as a pre wash or pre foam. I will dilute a 32oz foam cannon with 1oz of soap and foam the entire vehicle down dry. Only let it dwell for about 1+ minutes. Don’t let it dry on. Rinse off and continue with your normal wash process.
@myname-in8sh
@myname-in8sh 12 днів тому
Phil, how many bottles of the coating did you go through for all that trim? And how many ml was each bottle? Even on paint, I really struggle with maxing out the bottle and seem to run out before the car is done. Any quick easily typed tips on how to make a bottle go further?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 12 днів тому
Hi. This is a 30ml bottle and I only used about and 1/3 or it or less. I have found that some detailers overapply on the applicator and waste a lot. Even when coating the paint on a resized sedan, I use about 15-20ml. So maybe just over half a 30 ml bottle or about half a 50ml bottle on a larger truck or suv. The key is to only use a small amount each panel. Once the pad is primed with about 2 lines of coating about 3” long on the applicator. I only apply a 3” line of coating for each section and stretch it out pretty thin. In pretty much all of my ceramic coating videos I show how to apply and how much I use. ukposts.info/have/v-deo/an9ifmeke21-yn0.htmlsi=CLSCrJSTAMK8eoFS
@myname-in8sh
@myname-in8sh 7 днів тому
Oh God; that video you linked is just what I needed and I'm surprised I missed it earlier, considering how much I watch this channel. It felt like you were talking to me directly. Thank you so much and yes, I'm really overapplying and wasting coating compared to how less you use. Fully agree too with your reasoning that spreading it thin isn't going to affect its strength. This is what I keep saying; it's just these little gems and tips in your videos that are so invaluable. That little thing about storing the bottle upside down; I'd wondered about that too and it's great to have it validated by you. Life's just not fair when disaster detail channels get the clicks/subscribers and the real nitty gritty ones like you don't get their due. I hope you too get something back from all the help and experience you share with us. I watched the quitting UKposts video too and it was just so deflating; I hope you'll stay forever but if you one day decide it's not worth your while anymore, we'll all be devastated but will understand and wish you nothing but the best. I'm going to have to halve my coating consumption to match what you're doing and it's going to take some rewiring of the mind lol. I also won't be able to do as large a section as you guys do at once; I detail in the Middle East and India; don't need to tell you how hot and humid it gets. Our coating brands develop specifically for our climate; very high solids content and zero flash time; they tell us to strictly work in a 2x2 section, and to wipe instantly; no sweating no rainbows; apply asap and wipe instantly. It's both slower and quicker that way but atleast it takes away the guesswork and we know we can't mess up the installation with regard to leveling early or late. Sorry for the long reply but you're just the kind of guy that would be interested in reading how coatings might be made or done differently in Qatar or India and so wanted to share. The only reason I haven't kidnapped you both and smuggled you here to teach me everything you know is that the cars in Canada aren't going to detail themselves and I know you're needed there lol. Besides, I can always watch here and ask, right? You don't need to reply to this long essay; I've asked what I wanted to and you've answered🤗

I`ve been watching all this videos applying sealant with a mf towel folded in 4 and I always thought it would be so easier to cut this microfiber towel in 4 and use it as an applicator. So much better than a microfiber pad which eats a lot of material and a foam pad as well that is easily dropped, you don`t feal the curves and might be hard on paint..
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 13 днів тому
Hi. It really depends on the type of sealants. Whether a spray or liquid. For liquid sealants or wax or always machine apply. For sprays I use a folded towel. And for coatings I use the round or square microfiber applicators.

Not sure exactly, but even water makes the plastics look dark again. The difference is the coating cures solid and protects the plastics from drying out.
