You definitely need find more info about Donbass. The Ukrainians living in Donbass are under pressure from Russia and been force to fight against own people in Ukraine. You can feel the difference in motivation between the Oekrainian and Russian forces if you can talk with humor about “tour de donbas”. It is the fundamental motivation of “ if the going gets tough, the tough get going”. Slava Ukraini and support all the aid you are provided with by the EU, despite it costing € and making living standard more complicated. You get ear protection that allow speech to get through. People had hearing loss while firing and working near 155mm with ear protection. The shock waves also go through all your organs. The G5 is a South African towed howitzer of 155 mm calibre developed in South Africa.

Recoilless weapon systems have such a concussive sound. It didn't come through here because it overwhelms the microphone completely. But trust me, if you were there, you'd feel your launch getting shaken around. I've had the experience of firing the Carl Gustav ("AT4") recoilless shoulder weapon myself. For a split second you think that something went wrong and the thing exploded instead of firing. The momentary pressure is intense in a way I cannot truly convey... I don't envy the guy who has to pull the trigger on that thing 40 times in short succession!

I hope all these brave soldiers make it. Sadly, that may not be the case. So it's a bit difficult to watch. It's not a videogame. I'd rather travel and have a beer with these guys. And I promise I will, once the missiles stop dropping. They can rent me a tent on a Crimean beach, charging full hotel price! And perhaps I can do some small other contribution as well. What your weapon is doing making a big difference the pounding at the reception side is causing havoc . Great such team work..why the counter offensive is go so well.. best trained best weapons.

Unfortunately I doubt SPG is doing any difference being used in an artillery role. They are only doing this because the SPG ammo otherwise would just fill space as they fortunately have weapons that are miles ahead on the anti-tank department.

@@theonlyD Well that should change quickly. The USA announced this evening 1 Billion Dollars Security Assistance Aid package is in the air . I think the 16 105mm Howitzers will make a difference. As well the note the USA will continue to supply Ukraine to what they need.

are they forgetting to pull the safety off the fuse? I thought you had to remove that little tab off the tip of th9ose rounds like you do for an RPG

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that, and yes he forgot to pin the safty cross pin from the det cap and I honestly dont know what happens to a rocket thats fired with a safety still pin in place.

It did appear to be the case, but we are not in possession of all the facts here. I have checked the specs, and these rounds appear to have the GO-2 impact fuse, which does indeed have a travel cap made of flimsy metal and a bit of cord, which you can see in the video. I imagine that this cap on such an impact fuse, is not going to stop the round exploding on target, and conversely, it will likely explode if the loader has removed it, and accidentally hits the nose of the projectile while loading.
