I think he has some kind of impulsion to make his philosophy as over-complicated and mystical sounding as possible. Half the time I have no idea what the hell he's going on about, but I suspect he loves making himself sound ever so spiritually intellectual. @vickjones9113

How can it be that we are merely here to experience this? We can't even compare the experience to anything without experimenting with our bodies and minds, and we can't stop ourselves from attaching values or meanings to all of that. And yet.... And yet...and, but also, all people are experiencing different degrees of pleasure or pain. We have overpopulated the planet to the point of environmental collapse. This Covid 19 is our predator, turning our "experience" upside down. Surely THAT ought to get our attention. Make us think. To believe anything... is to have found an answer. To have accepted an answer, one first had to accept a question no matter whether or not we have consciously asked the question.
@YOtshay
@YOtshay 4 роки тому
@@nackjicholson1940 I agree. Often times I feel like the western society focuses too much on the intellectual and perhaps they are stuck in the loop of making sense of things. Human brains are only able to comprehend so much. There so much asking, inquiring and questioning that goes on which leads to more asking, more inquiring, and more questioning. This sort of "craze" over finding life's purpose is also born from the intellectual, it could be born also from the ego seeking to understand, determine and dominate.

Recovering from a very serious suicide attempt, I kept asking god/planet earth/energies etc. 'why am I still here?'. The answer came to in the shape of motherless kittens. I've had cats my whole life, but for the first time I had to be their mother, put their well-being before mine, I had to stop feeling sorry for myself but take care of these helpless being, and above all they taught me true love. Life is not about how much one is loved, but how much one loves. I still cope with my demons every day, but I love all animals sooo much. I love nature so much. I love the good deeds of amazing people sooo much, or a beautiful piece of music/art/sunset/joke ..... Life is about loving. And that keeps me going, knowing the more I love and care, the better it is for all.

I love Ricky Gerais's comedy. He has a perspective toward the existence of God that to him is obvious. In actuality, it is merely an opinion based on a personal decision to believe it. Religious people have a differing 'opinion' that is also based on their personal decision to believe something. Since neither perspective is provable, it will perpetually be debated. @@johnholvey2544 that's essentially "The Scientific Method" in action. Ricky Gervais will say all day that he's open to the existence of a God because like he says, technically atheists and religious people don't actually know for sure whatever they believe. extremely depressing seeing videos of Jordan Peterson and Russell Brand, and people praising them for being "entirely" unbiased, when the truth is that they are indeed MOSTLY unbiased, until they have a point which they have a strongly established opinion in of course, which then results to cop-out styled answers, which are essentially just the same things you'll hear over and over and over again and don't really make any points progressing to a resolution. the only difference of these opinions being made by someone like Brand or Peterson though, is that it's a slightly more articulate form of the same baseless arguments that the stupid people of the same group make, so it makes any intelligent person debating you feel bad for you and answer you articulately, (like i feel i saw Ricky Gervais do to Russell Brand, as well as why Stephen Fry did to Jordan Peterson in his interview.) at which point they continue to use all the other baseless cop-out arguments and try to burn the bridge behind them.

Don’t first ask, “why are we here?” Instead say, “we are here” and then seek enlightenment. Otherwise, we will spend a lifetime contemplating what happens in a blink of an eye when we return to the earth.
@AFROMAN18ita
@AFROMAN18ita 4 роки тому
Interesting point but then how would you define "seeking enlightenment"? Do you mean that we shouldn't ponder or question our existence but rather seek meaning in our very own existence? Although, that would come about as a process of ones realisation that they're life has meaning in and of itself. As such, this is a direct answer to the ol eternal question of what ones purpose is or why one is here. Perhaps, its just "we are here" and therefore we have a purpose and ones life is assumed to be inherently meaningful. Ahaha im just rambling now- at the end of the day, its essentially man's search for truth even though its a subjective form of truth based on ones individual experience, perception, intuition etc OFC morality and ethics come into the picture and that makes everything a little more interesting and complex.
@W0oDy97

@@AFROMAN18ita the "Why" in "Why are we here" is only explained as you experience, the meaningful acts/feelings you do/let in, when understood in their totality and uniqueness to your experience, become the reason :) no longer questioning the "Why" frees you to find meaning here and now instead. Love, friendship, music, laughter, dogs ✌. That's my answer :)
@cgametheory1423
@cgametheory1423 4 роки тому
What if in saying “we are here” and then seeking enlightenment the question “why are we here?” keeps popping up? Is that then part of the seeking of enlightenment. Many people do say or realise “we are here” and then in the quest for enlightenment find themselves at the level of asking “why are we here.” “Why are we here?” is answered by full awareness of all our memory of the past whilst we are where we are and whilst we are thinking and sensing about the best paths through the future. The Now is a trap where we loose our senses of where we have been and where we are going. We are not in the Now, we are all the way through the dimension of time from past to present yet only in our part of it. Yes using more of our senses to make good decisions in every moment is how to be in “the zone” but that takes being in the past, present and future equally and deciding always with compassion based on the need or truth of good results from actions and the probabilities of good results from good actions. When someone steals your Now they steal your decision making, they steal your conscience, the steal your will. That is the centre, that is the kernel, that is you and that needs to be protected. Do not explore your Now for others because it leaves you vulnerable, protect your Now, protect your Centre. Explore tools to decide compassionately and become you but an evolving you. Evolving into compassion and skill and wisdom and helpfulness.

@Chuck Thunder there is enlightenment in the Buddhist sense of realising the truth of Karma and trying to either gain good Karma by only doing good deeds or trying to transcend Karma by being at one with reality. There is the enlightenment of European History in which the dogma of Abrahamic Religion was realised to be less valid than the Philosophy of the Ancients and much less valid than the very real miracles created by science. There is the enlightenment of which you may speak, the gnostic and kabbalastic, which to me is the attempt to unify the Religions of the “Ultimate” God and the reality and proof of Science by attempting to use and find and seek proof in Vision Questing and Religious Experience and Faith and Luck as all Mysticism seems to attempt. Philosophy (the love of Wisdom) shows that in loving something we try to improve it and understand it and impress it and care for it and know the truth of it and have it love us in return. That is also the kernel of truth in Mysticism, that in loving we ask the divine to also love us, but we ask it without selfishness for love of love itself. And the rewards are great.

@nite traitor, I failed to see connection between the first statement and your last statement. You're saying that Seeking to know the reason behind something is foolish and vain and that we must accept everything like, "it is because it is". That type of thinking is what atheists usually accuse religious folks of. The other issue is the use of vague terms, like seeking enlightenment. The people who do this usually do it on purpose: if people don't know what I am talking about, they cannot argue my point. The fact that this comment got so many likes shows people just like what sounds nice but beneath the surface has no logic associated with it

Doubts or questions in our head are generally about God` choices, not about his existence ! There are rules even in traffic to keep things in order, or workplaces has some rules to obey of course God will have rules to obey.. We might not like the rules but it does not mean GOD does not exist there are some my proofs for GOD existence These are explored by scientists in last 50 /100 years whereas Quaran already mentioned about these facts 1400 years ago... Worth to check since there is also no evidence about GOD DOESNT NOT EXIST 1: SUN’S ORBIT In 1512 the astronomer Nicholas Copernicus put forward his theory that the Sun is motionless at the centre of the solar system, and that the planets revolve around it. The belief that the Sun is stationary was widespread amongst astronomers until the 20th century. It is now a well-established scientific fact that the Sun is not stationary, but is moving in an orbit around the centre of our Milky Way galaxy. The Quran mentions the orbit of the Sun: “IT IS HE WHO CREATED NIGHT AND DAY, THE SUN AND THE MOON, EACH FLOATING IN ITS ORBIT.”[21:33] 2: ORIGIN OF LIFE Water is essential for all living things. We all know that water is vital to life, but the Quran makes a very unusual claim: “WE MADE EVERY LIVING THING FROM WATER? WILL THEY NOT BELIEVE?”[21:30] In this verse, water is pointed out as the origin of all life. All living things are made of cells. We now know that cells are mostly made up of water. For example, 80% of the cytoplasm (basic cell material) of a standard animal cell is described as water in biology textbooks. The fact that living things consist mostly of water was discovered only after the invention of the microscope. In the deserts of Arabia, the last thing someone would have guessed is that all life came from water. 3 IRON Iron is not natural to the earth. It did not form on the earth but came down to earth from outer space. This may sound strange but it’s true. Scientists have found that billions of years ago the earth was struck by meteorites. These meteorites were carrying Iron from distant stars which had exploded. The Quran says the following on the origin of Iron: “WE SENT DOWN IRON WITH ITS GREAT INHERENT STRENGTH AND ITS MANY BENEFITS FOR HUMANKIND”[57:25] God uses the words ‘sent down’ for Iron. It is clear from the verse that Iron is not an earthly material, but was sent down for the benefit of humanity. The fact that Iron came down to earth from outer space is something which could not be known by the primitive science of the 7th century. 4: SKY’S PROTECTION The sky plays a crucial role in protecting the earth. The sky protects the earth from the lethal rays of the sun. If the sky did not exist then the sun’s radiation would have killed off all life on earth. It also acts like a blanket wrapped around the earth, to protect it from the freezing cold of space. The temperature just above the sky is approximately -270oC. If this temperature was to reach earth then the planet would freeze over instantly. The sky also protects life on earth by warming the surface through heat retention (greenhouse effect), and reducing temperature extremes between day and night. These are some of the many protective functions of the sky. The Quran asks us to consider the sky in the following verse: “WE MADE THE SKY A PROTECTIVE CEILING. AND YET THEY ARE TURNING AWAY FROM OUR SIGNS!” [21:32] The Quran points to the sky’s protection as a sign of Allah. The protective properties of the sky were discovered by scientific research conducted in the 20th century. 5: MOUNTAINS The Quran draws our attention to a very important characteristic of mountains: “DID WE NOT MAKE THE EARTH A RESTING PLACE? AND THE MOUNTAINS AS STAKES?”[78:6-7] The Quran indicates that mountains have deep roots by using the word stakes to describe them. In fact, mountains do have deep roots, and the word stakes is an accurate description for them. A book titled ‘Earth’ by Geophysicist Frank Press explains that mountains are like stakes, and are buried deep under the surface of the earth.Mount Everest, the height of which is approximately 9 km above ground, has a root deeper than 125 km. The fact that mountains have deep ‘stake’ like roots was not known until after the development of the theory of plate tectonics in the beginning of the 20th century. 6: EXPANSION OF THE UNIVERSE At a time when the science of Astronomy was still primitive, the expansion of the universe was described in the Quran: “AND IT IS WE WHO HAVE BUILT THE UNIVERSE WITH [OUR CREATIVE] POWER AND KEEP EXPANDING IT.”[51:47] The fact that the universe is expanding was discovered in the last century. The physicist Stephen Hawking in his book ‘A Brief History of Time’ writes, “The discovery that the universe is expanding was one of the great intellectual revolutions of the 20th century.” The Quran mentioned the expansion of the universe even before the invention of the telescope! There are much more , can be found on internet, There are proofs that Quaran never have been changed In the video below and site, you can see some numbers and names in Quaran has interesting connection with biology, It is very mystic! en.i3gaz.com/2009/02/13/id/3 ukposts.info/have/v-deo/iad2a4CrlqRqlJ8.html

The beauty about TRUTH is that it exists whether our temporary human "self" perceives it or not. Much love to both of these Souls. Ricky is gonna be very joyous when he leaves this "Journey" and discovers that there is no loss and no "end." These bodies are vehicles and the journey within them may be temporary, but the driver within the vehicle, the Souls that we are.... the Love, the Light, the pure Innocence.... THAT is for ever. Enjoy your "time" in this Simulator that YOU helped to create. Do what you Love! BE who you Love! Have fun!!! BLESS YOU!!!

There was once a frog who had lived all his life in a well. One day a friend visited him and informed him of the existence of the Atlantic Ocean. “Oh, what is this Atlantic Ocean?” asked the frog in the well. “It is a vast body of water,” his friend replied. “How vast? ls it double the size of this well?” “Oh, no, much larger,” his friend replied. “How much larger? Ten times the size?” In this way the frog went on calculating. But what was the possibility of his ever understanding the depths and far reaches of the great ocean? Our faculties, experience, and powers of speculation are always limited. The frog was always thinking in terms relative to his well. He had no power to think otherwise.

I love Christ❤ he was a wonderful man. It’s a shame St. Paul came along and perverted his gospel. Im not a fundamentalist, but because I adhere to the words of Christ, and only the words of Christ, I consider myself as a Christian. Christianity is now filled with hypocrites and its very difficult to stand the corruption in the church and the abusive lecherous priests abusing kids and nuns. Jesus spent most of his adult life rebuking hypocrites(Pharisees and Sadducee’s) and some of the most memorable things he said, like: ‘Whoever hasn’t sinned cast the first stone’ and ‘Fix yourself before you go about trying to fix others(paraphrased) deal with the issue of hypocrisy.
