I think I'm a fan of Ricky because he's very genuine in who he is. He's genuinely a cunt to people, he's genuine in his heartfelt writing, politically, and in his beliefs. I genuinely am glad to be alive while he's around to enjoy his work. I've had my own issues with my metal health and his work has, I believe, honestly helped me to stay on this earth.

Only just watching this, but I love that Ricky will take up hours of his day talking to true geordie and JaackMaate, but recorded a short video on his phone for a previous Jimmy Kimmell interview

He has such a great philosophy on life and wise words to share. I've been a fan of his work for years (particualrly Derek and Extras) -his ability to write something so funny and then something so poignant/ heart warming within the following moment mesmerises me. I could actually listen to him talk forever

" This quest to be popular, it's never a good thing in art " such a true and wonderful quote by Ricky - I am an artist and once, when I drew someone's portrait, they said " It doesn't really look like me " I said " Well perhaps that's because I didn't draw it through your eyes " ..... it went straight over his head :-) True Art is an external expression of an inner emotion, nothing more, nothing less ... and its existence is never reliant upon critique.

Im a Geordie (haven't lived in England for donkeys years) and had never before heard of the True Geordie. Binge watching Ricky interviews brought me here. Well done lads it's a smashing interview! I honestly thin it's one of the best. Ricky doesn't seem to want to pla it for laughs all the time and you give him the room to talk and show him great respect without arselicking. Ricky is a legend of TV, not just comedy but TV, he truly tells a story with everything he's done whether it's been with laughs or heartfelt drama roles, he tells a story. Fantastic ARTIST, he makes art with every role. Geordie I believe you make ART out of UKposts as does Lawrence. Brilliant podcast this. Third to Ian Wright and Alan Shearer for me. Loved it.

Love this podcast and Ricky himself but its frustrating how in all of Ricky’s interviews no one ever mentions Karl or Steve. Those two are the ones that Ricky did his best work with; the office, Xfm, podcasts, idiot abroad etc. Just feels like a missed opportunity.

It's wonderful to see and experience men sharing their life experiences, admitting where the mistakes were, the laughter and tears and true hugs at the end...King David whose heart was instantly knit together with Jonathan's and visa versa..he said their live surpassed that of women. They shared in the battles of life together. A true bond. A covenant relationship.

That was brilliant, Ricky helps me personally to have this perspective of life that is positive and logical. That was such a natural and felt so good after watching this, just enhances the fact that good people over rule the bad and that is always something to remember. x

Listened to so much RG, from all the XFM shows multiple times and including most of his Sirius XM series, and absolutely love him to bits. I do find he often treads the same boards with his themes, but this was the one when I felt he most eloquently and succinctly talked about how (he feels) the creative process should be to the individual. He makes a lot of sense in that matter, for me spot on. Great Podcast! Really enjoyed this, the Wrighty and Shearer ones. Well done, chaps! You have earned a new listener. :)

One down to earth actor on the big screen and small, and a complete legend in my opinion, just for being the animal activist that he is and for speaking out on behalf of vulnerable animals who can't speak for themselves. I absolutely love Derek as there will be people who can relate to certain aspects of his character, a kind and sweet man who just wants to be accepted and loved by a beautiful woman. Another one of my favourite films is Ghost Town, if your a fan of his comedy, I highly recommend it?!😊👤👀
