“My story is an exploration into the life of a young woman who lives in a young mothers’ home, having been deserted by her family as a result of
a tough economic situation which made it difficult for her parents to raise her. The film shows how she looked for alternative solutions to survive and how circumstances forced her into a situation with a man that then saw her getting pregnant while still in high school. We hear her experience and how she navigated immense challenges to becoming self-sufficient and someone
that believes in herself. The film also tells my own story of resistance and how I’m working with girls and women in my communities to change the negative narratives that exist.”
