The second part of the trip along the Shchugor River (the first is here: • Река ЩУГОР. Часть 1. Б... ).
In this part, we will spend a day opposite Mount Telpos, looking at how it changes throughout the whole spring (in June in the Northern Urals it is still spring) day - from harsh, shrouded in bad weather and clouds, to completely open in the scarlet rays of sunset. We will visit all the taiga huts on the river - there are several of them in the lower reaches. Everyone is different, everyone is good in their own way.
Since we are traveling together, we move quietly, so wild animals often do not hear or notice us. In the first part we met two moose and a bear, and this time - a young moose and a reindeer who went down to the river in the hope of escaping from hordes of voracious blood-sucking insects.
We will also see the Upper Gate of Shchugor. Their special feature is the Veldor-Kyrta-Yol waterfall on the stream of the same name. The mouth of this stream is enclosed in a canyon, which, when narrowed, forms a three-cascade waterfall.
The Middle Gate is another attraction of the river. They are much more like gates - the river narrows as it passes through them, and under the rocks the depth reaches ten meters. The water below you is dark and it seems that the river here is incredibly deep!
Opposite the Lower Gate, on the island of Kyrta-di, we spent the night. It was a beautiful end to the rafting: gorgeously beautiful rocks, silence and sunset...
Well, our journey will end with a trip on the Shapkina boat from the village of Ust-Shchugor to the city of Pechora along the Pechora River.
