I've never known another human being who can so brilliantly describe bereavement. Not just the obvious things of overwhelming grief, but the anger and guilt, but the strange things we do to bring comfort. I cannot express the respect I have for him in communicating this.

In this never ending shitshow that’s called Great Britain, Rob Delaney never fails to remind everyone of just what matters and why its so important. Legend!

His advocacy for the NHS is brilliant. He gets the community culture within the NHS and just how important that is for the mental health of the patients.

Watching this was a breath of fresh air. Seeing an interview on a serious matter where the interviewer isn't continually interrupting or trying to make their own point, and asking what's ok to talk about or not, respecting that choice then moving on - Fantastic job on a difficult subject.

Delaney is a legend for his advocacy for our (his included) NHS. It’s the only thing that unites us that’s left. I’m Scottish and wholeheartedly believe we should be an independent country but i take tremendous pride in how the whole UK rallied post WW2 and collectively decided healthcare should be a right. I’ve been an ‘out patient’ all my life and have lived under a private healthcare system and the difference is ‘night and day’. Being cared for by the NHS is like being looked after my your local community vs buying a service from a massive corporation. The nurses in private healthcare are rushed off their feet and you can see the overworked bitterness in their eyes from the stress but in the NHS the staff want to make you better for your own sake not because they have ‘targets’ to meet. Long live the NHS ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So much respect and love to Rob for sharing his families experience and pain. It's really astounding that he's opened himself up as part of the process of dealing with grief. It makes me and I'm sure many others feel less crazy and less alone.

My god, this is the most thoughtful and incisive interview from a wonderful compassionate but unsentimental man. His comedy reflects his arritude to life. As the mother of three, all of whom are fully adult, thank goodness, I don’t know where I would put myself if this happened to one of them. This is wonderful.

It’s so refreshing to see a celebrity so candid, funny and honest break through the taboo of talking about the worst scenario imaginable. It brings understanding to those who haven’t experienced the trauma and comfort and cathartics to parents enduring the agony of watching their child deteriorate at an age when they haven’t had a chance to show the world who they are.It is the hardest journey any parent can go through, and I can imagine afterwards, nothing in life can be as scary again, for the worst thing has already happened. I’ve pre-ordered A Heart That Works and all the proceeds are going to children’s hospices. This story needs to be told and it’s going to help so many people. It’s a privilege to hear you speak of these sacred memories of Henry ❤

First off, I love the harlequin. When I visit London, I stay in Islington. Eat a pizza at three John's, have some beers, then walk down to the harlequin. Repeat as needed daily. Besides that, Delaney's strength and candidness is astounding and inspiring. Sadly, his story is NOT. UNIQUE. AT. ALL. But he carries a large megaphone and is giving a voice the millions of bereaved parents across the world. I don't know Rob, but I love Rob.

I've never heard of Rob...and yet this is the 2nd interview I've watched, just now, back to back. Thank you for sharing Henry with those of us who have faced similar circumstances...Blake's poem has brought me peace.......meanwhile, let's hope the cycle of life continues.... Joy and woe are woven fine, A clothing for the soul divine, Under every grief and pine, Runs a joy with silken twine. It is right it should be so, We were made for joy and woe, And when this we rightly know, Through the world we safely go. ~ by William Blake

I should add-- as a parent who recently lost an adult son (25), I am immensely grateful for this interview. The interviewer was perfect-- exactly the kind of person I'd be happy to talk to about my own grief. And of course, Rob Delaney was wonderfully articulate about his experience. Blessings on the road ahead, Rob.

I wish all Americans who don't believe in universal healthcare or think it is part of some type of "socialist agenda" to introduce state run healthcare paid for by taxes and free at the point of need should watch this to see what the NHS offers when working at its best.
@boxtradums0073

Universal healthcare is not only the right thing to do morally it’s the right thing to do fiscally. We play less than half of what Americans pay for their healthcare and across the board we have better outcomes.

20th of October ? ie: DAY / MONTH / YEAR ? Or are we already in the twilight zone ? - It is sure great staff do great things - but the NHS is broken and anyone who has had a relative go through a hospital recently will attest to that. Every heard of the 'respect' form, you know, the one about 'respect' - I know someone who was sent home with that completely blank BUT signed and dated by a doctor. The form is essential and useless empty. Hospital makes people sick also, an honest Dr. will say that. PJOE and other 'socialist types' are too petrified to criticise the NHS because it is the 'nurses' but it has to be criticised, top down. There is a nurse currently on a murder trial, which could be as much about messed up communications top down. Administration and management and looking at them critically, is not offensive. Hospitals weaken and make people sick, the longer they are in there. If they can ( as there is so much on probably ) staff will pass you all around the blocks, from pillar to post - rather than address issues OR speak out about them. The nurses and doctors that do speak out, are treated as lunatics, or ignored - JOE - if you are 4-real, then speak to people, with some deep observations and perspectives because, as tragic as this story is, it is one of millions and also, it has no critical depth or insight into the NHS at all. Stop being Politically Correct and not addressing the Elephant in the Hospitals. Please do a useful interview that addresses these things. Your title is misleading and in fact looks like government propaganda, worst case. Instead say: "how NURSES helped my son" instead of a broken state institution. Yours Sincerely, The real public.

@@Ffinity The point I think is to able to write an objective rational or reasoned opinion without resorting to ad hominem and personal insults, commenting on someone writing, as well as mocking mental health ? Nothing but the topic ? I do not understand what your comments are about Department of Health or Trusts, as if you had read properly, rather than being reactive, you would have realised those are the places I am exactly referring to. Who did you believe I was referring to, the cleaning ladies ?
@junctionfilms6348

@junctionfilms6348
@junctionfilms6348 Рік тому
@@Ffinity Is that all you have to offer, swearing, insults and so on ? That really is the state of many people's mind today and their level of critical and qualitative thinking ? I would say there is little hope for any better society which such a mindset. Which is rather sad. Regards the misunderstanding of what my comment was, it was directed at the administration of the NHS. However, it is still totally unclear on what your opinion is on the topic, or your position, given that the only comments are a stream of petty abusive and narrow minded attitudes, as well as, I already have clarified, that indeed, the comment is about the Department of Health and soforth ( which is what the administration and management of an institution is ). So, who do you think I am commenting about and also, why are you reacting in such an irrational manner, to a simple comment ? If a minute of reading, is too much, then surely, the topic is too much, as well as sitting through an hour with a comedian ?
