The movie is corny. Check out the karate kid. It is about the same punch line. I would have quit on this movie if Duvall hadn’t been in it.

Typically, people prefer violence or sex to films with morals.....a shame how people don't see the impact on behavior...............many have become the walking dead.

Who will ever forget Robert Duvall's magnificent performance as Gus in the wonderful "Lonesome Dove"?? I have watched that movie at least six times just to be able to see Gus one more time. "Tender Mercies" is another one of his unforgettable performances I have watched over and over. The man can truly act.

I fell in love with Gus from Lonesome Dove years ago, still love that ole cowboy.
