How do you know what freedom the director had? I'd say Cuaron being an insanely talented director had more to do with the film's quality than the restrictions put by the studio(which can often actually improve a movie).

proving that INDIGENOUS Mexicans still do exist. No they did not all intermix with Spanish. Mexico is 60% Native American. TELEVISA did an amazing job at hiding them and portraying them as a small minority in Mexicos demographics. This actress is pure Mexican...MIXTECAN!

@@robroux6074 Mexico is actually only about 10-15% pure indigenous. The mestizo population is very mixed and diverse and most Mexicans have a European/Indigenous admixture (which also greatly varies on which is greater). Still 10-15% in Mexico is several million people.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. I loved it on SO MANY levels. Not only is it visually and narratively beautiful, but I also relate a lot to it. I grew up as one of those fortunate kids with a live-in maid who was basically part of the family. Lol I don’t have a nanny nor do I need one, I’m not saying it’s a bad movie , I’m just saying this was overhyped. This movie is as simple as it gets. Just add a few shooting scenes or killing scenes and it’s “amazing” “Oscar wining” like I’ve seen plenty of nanny movies that are as good or better but this one gets treated like an Oscar?? I get the meaning behind this film, but cmon there’s other movies like this that get no recognition as this one. Is it because it’s black and white ? Is it because it’s Spanish film? I’m tryna figure out what’s so “masterpiece” about this film?

@@a.m.g.116 Watch the movie again. It's not telling a story, it's giving a message. Every shot is visually telling something to the viewer, if they're up to understand it. The film is social criticism about a silent "class system" which still applies in Mexico. It's not about a "nanny" or about the drama, it's supposed to be a mirror and a window to one part of a society. Roma is surely not a movie for everyone, though. It puts too much reality in fiction, which some people (like a majority of the critics) love... but others hastily hate (like people just wanting entertainment out of a movie).

@@timhoodlebrink Well I am a Conservative and I was making a joke (something that you can't do in society anymore). But, I'm not going to waste a perfectly good opportunity to ask someone who sits on the left side of the room a good question that I would like to have their opinion on. So.., I assume that you are Pro-Choice. You're probably Pro-Choice in a sense that nobody has the right to tell a woman what they can and can't do with their body. That doesn't compute for me. However, I am Pro-Choice too. But, my views come from my religion, which is Christianity. Now naturally you would think that I am a Christian and would be completely Pro-Life 100%. Well, one thing I am, is not stupid. Abortion is never going to be made illegal...EVER. And even if it was, people are going to still find a way to have one done, probably in a way that is not medically safe. I'm Pro-Life bc I believe that each and every person is accountable for their own selves, live's, and actions. Being Pro-Choice to me equates to no difference than a person buying a gun and killing someone that they didn't like. They are responsible, and if there is a God like I believe there is, than that's going to be were they have to explain themselves. FINALLY AND THIS IS MY QUESTION AND I AM SORRY FOR YAMMERING ON, but I would really like to know your opinion on what I call Abortion Law's going waaaaay to far, to the point where it's just basically evil. This whole thing with being able to have an Abortion 9 months into your pregnancy... this is not acceptable to me. I find these laws, evil, unethical, and coming from a person who practices medicine, morally wrong, and completely against a Medical Doctor's Hippocratic Oath that he or she takes before coming a Physician. So, here in lies the question. What's your opinion on this matter ? Approaching someone in the office , or even a relative about political issues in this day in age can have serious consequences. But not over the internet. Leave out any " No God " comment's if you are an atheist. I haven't the time to read that . @@OoOxChibbeexOoO Yeah... Since every critic and their mother said it was a "Oscar Worthy" movie... Every wannabe hipster filmmaker has been saying it's one of the best movies ever... The truth is... Great cinematography, absolute shit pacing and no real story... Just great camera work and direction... People gotta learn to think for themselves... Dont trust these critics.

Seen this yesterday..damn i cried..it’s a love letter from Cuaron to Libo who helped raise him and look after his entire family and the house when he was a kid. The cinematography in black and white was amazing and beautiful.
