The beagle might have severe separation anxiety. My ol Guy, Pooter, has it. We have 4 other dogs (thank goodness)...but before, when he was our only dog, he would bark and whine and try to “get out” of the house (clawing and tearing at the door) whenever we would leave. So maybe try letting him spend the night with another dog or human, that might help sooth his anxiety and he might not dig at the door. Also, Country is an incredibly good looking man with or without the beard😍❤️
