I'm danish. This is literally the first time I have ever heard of anyone victim blaming Kim. I'm not surprised that it's from social media. That's the only place where losers like that would come out of the woodwork to spew such nonsense. Their voices are best disregarded, but I get that Stephanie has her narrative that she wants to reiterate every video. Still, this is not a reflection of the vast majority of people in Scandinavia nor our opinions on Kim as a victim.

Was she wearing an effing outfit that said, "I am an available victim for your $nuff fantasy, please torture, assault, and kill me"? Because barring that, I am not sure how clothing could be blamed for his dark urges and objectification of a real human woman.

@@plantemorum...I don't think she is trying to "reiterate a narrative". She straight up said, " people online," were saying these things. Violence against women is not a narrative, and neither is victim blaming. Both of these things happen all over the place, all the time. She didn't say everyone was saying this, she didn't say people in Denmark were saying it. Again, she said, "people online."

It's so disturbing that people will blame a woman's clothing and not blame the person who committed a heinous, inhumane act. How can you hear a story like this and think there would be any rational explanation for what he did, let alone the reason being her clothing??? No one and I mean NO ONE would ever have a reason for doing this, how tf are these people more disturbed by her clothing than his act?

I just commented this. I’ve been feeling for a while like I had not much feeling’s about true crime stories. I think a lot of peoples are getting detached from their feelings when watching true crime and I think we really need more people who focus on the victims like she does. They focus so much on the killers to the point that some people are becoming fans of them or finding them sexy. Talking about the victims is reminding us that there’s real people who died, we should give more attention to people that should be remembered and less about giving some celebrity to the killers

The thing is most of the time they grow a hatred for both parents but since the relationship between the mother is often disorganized and sort of off and on in terms of kindness and allowing the father to do the abuse a psychopath child can often be wired to blame the mom more because the expectation is protection and comfort and they don't get that. So often times the hatred for women comes from a twisted sense of betrayal in these particular situations. Other times the hatred comes from the mom being physically or mainly sexually abusive towards the child. It's sort of interesting concept just how much the environment of a child with psychopathy can actually effect their views of different types of people in the world, because they lack empathy their mind jumps straight to extreme spasific stereotypes.

It’s the same thing when the genders are reversed as well. As she was saying it I realized that it’s exactly how my stepdaughter treats her father. Her mother is verbally and physically abusive and yet she still has this unending loyalty to her mother, almost like she’s scared that if she stops being super respectful to her mother, her mom will stop loving her. She however doesn’t fear that with dad, because dad gives her unconditional love. Yet she treats her dad like he is an idiot (even though he is super smart, and has a job that requires much more intelligence than what her mother does) and she has absolutely no respect for him. She strangely has more respect for me than she does her own father. He was and still is often verbally abused by her mother and their daughter just treats him the same way his ex treats him. It’s a strange psychology that I’m still trying to understand fully. Her dad is so loving and yet she barely returns that love at all. Humans are so complex.

I suspect that amongst the volunteers for his rocket project he got in close contact with some really smart girls, knowing so much more about what he was bragging to be his specialty. I think that kind of annoyingly rocked his world where he convinced himself his mom and other women are "dumb as a cat" and made him want to reestablish his self confidence through physical domination over a smart woman. He wanted to see her totally degraded, dehumanized and humiliated just to feel better about himself, just to be the stronger one, the one in charge... It's sad their prisons are so nice. I just wanted to pop in and say that Madsen did not get a normal prion sentence( which only goes op to 16 years). He got what is called a forvarringsdom, which means a lot of things but for one, that there is no set date for him. He will continuesly be reevaluated over the years, to see if he is safe to put back into society and this far the answer has been no. Let’s hope it stays that way. And second that as far as I can tell, the main reason why a lot of people thought that he was a serial killer or that he at least, most likely had killed before, was not only because of his mental state but also because only a few years prior to Kim another female torso had ended op in those very same waters. I am not from Sjælland but I remember coming home from school, the day that they found her remains and how thick the air was. Dane here: I remember this case being everywhere on the news and everyone talking about it - my friends and I talked about how scared she must've been because even if she had somehow managed to knock him out or somehow get loose she wouldn't know how to get out of the submerged submarine. The photo of Peter sitting in the grass after his prison "escape" was also memed to death here in Denmark. It's also a piece of somewhat common knowledge in Denmark that Peter is so convincing that he can't have the same two or three guards rotating guarding duty of him because he'll end up manipulating them for his own gain - his guards are constantly shifted to prevent that. On a somewhat lighter note, I really enjoy how Stephanie is able to give the victims a voice when retelling such horrific stories.

Just cause he didn’t wanna kill her that quick he wanted to take his time with her. And this kept going for hours. She feels no remorse and felt terrible having to tell her mother what she did, but she had to do it to survive. @@harleen222 yeah, but those have nothing to do with what she was wearing. That's a completely different argument. I think there's more of an argument to be made for a woman to not go with a strange man into a place where she cannot escape. That is basic self-preserverance. Where this argument fails in this case is that Peter was supposedly good at putting people at ease so she probably didn't even think it was a problem, as many people probably wouldn't. Add to that, that Kim had a lot of experience with throwing herself into dangerous situations so even if she had that nagging thought at the back of her head, which her joke to her boyfriend could have suggested, she probably didn't think it would be all that bad as she had found herself in much worse places. If I had been her, I would have probably thought that he could have made advances or in the worst case scenario done dome assaulty stuff, but it's only in hindsight that everyone can sit and talk about how it was obviously going to go the way it went. So yeah, while the point about her not going into the sub are not thought through, they are still a lot more valid than the supposed "what was she wearing" comments, which I have never seen anywhere while the whole case was happening. I also never saw the media talk about how she shouldn't have gone into the submarine. Whatever random people say online or to one another over the water cooler is not relevant. It was never reported as this whole thing being Kim's fault. No one who matters to this case ever said that.

How is this still a trend? People still say "I'm early" or "First" but since that has been beaten to death, they just get mocked in return... beats me.

I love that your fiancé just gets to sit there and be told these incredibly fascinating, heart wrenching stories by you multiple times a week. You are the Korean Mr Ballen and he is very lucky to be able to have this as a natural form of entertainment lol. Keep making these incredible videos Stephanie!

I have heard many of the stories you tell multiple times, but your take makes it seem brand new. And you make the victims more real and human and less like victims than any other podcast/true crime channel. You are so wonderful for doing that. ❤️

Again Stephanie. If you ever think you’re not making a difference doing what you do on UKposts, just let this be a reminder you are. You’re giving voices to victims that might have never made it to our ears. Learning about these amazing people, taken from us all too soon in such horrible ways does something to us all. So much respect now for a journalist I might’ve never heard of. I hope her family finds peace. Thank you for your amazing story telling. ❤

Dear Stephanie,I've been your biggest fan since the very beginning, and my heart skipped a beat when you mentioned Sri Lanka! Sending you loads of love from there! ❤️ If, by any chance, you could grace us with a podcast about the current situation - shedding light on the economic struggles and the impact of the corrupted family - it would be beyond amazing. Your unique voice could truly make a difference and offer hope. Keeping my fingers crossed with a heart full of admiration! ❤️

When such incredibly horrific and inhumane things happen to people who make the entire purpose of their life to genuinely help others so selflessly and do whatever they can to make this world a sliver of a better place it makes my blood boil like no other. I can’t even imagine the amount of terror and pain Kim felt while trapped in that small space being brutally tortured with no way to defend herself and no way to escape. To me life in prison isn't enough. Criminals need to have the same things they did to someone else done to them.

I am not sure i agree. I think they shuld be seperated from society until the end of there natural life and never breath free air again but i dont think a prisoner should be tortured to death and murdered. I am not American maybe it is a culteral difference but would you be the one willing to torture and murder if you wish it as a punishment? Should you then be tortured and murdered for what you did? and then the person after you? Isnt something like this inherently wrong or is it ok. Does someones inhumanity make it justified to be inhumane to them? We need to be better to each other in general. So often it seems everyone is carrying violence and evil around and waiting to deliver it to people who they feel it is acceptable to brutalize. I dont think this kind of action is every justified. Lock him up and throw away the key.

I'm excited about this one. Peter Madsen is a distant cousin of my husband's. I suggested his story to another UKposts channel that makes true crime videos not too long ago. I'm really glad that Stephanie is telling the story. Stephanie girl, you're a fantastic story teller. You tell stories in such a way that listeners are able to see what's happening. Im from Denmark and i very clearly remember this. We were getting constant updates While the search was happening and they were finding her body parts. It hits so close to home, as multiple people i know personally, had previously interacted with or worked with Peter Madsen. A former classmate of mines father who was a reporter and film maker, had prior to the murder gone into the submarine with Madsen to report on it. It really shook a lot of people up

Hey Stephanie !! I suggest a story from Tunisia ( a country in north Africa ) about a serial killer , his name is ' naser Damergi', I'm not sure if there's enough resources in English but there are tons of footage of the trial if you can get a translator , there are footage of him describing his own crimes, it would be cool to see you working on this case ! Much love ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Submarines are crazy. I would never go on one :') I went to a movie park and you were able to get inside one and experience what it would feel like in an emergency. I was an elementary student at that time and that experience terrifies me to this day. This case is just scary.

Me either. Metal capsule with thousands of pounds of pressure surrounding you…no. Just no. At Disneyland they have the Finding Nemo ride I thought I was going to have a heart attack. And it wasn’t so much the claustrophobia it was the being under water in a metal tube. I’ve learned recently I have Thalassophobia.
