I see it differently, the pedestrian was looking the other way and probably didn’t react quickly enough as the guardsman didn’t slow down. In the Grand Prix world that would have been described as a racing incident 😊 …lighten up people

Yes and they did it at Windsor, when I saw an American man with 4 (I think remember that right who harrassed and mauled on the the guards on Sentry duty. and ther Police who occupy the box at the entrance to them to their sentry box and demanded their Passports and marked them as no entry in future and sent them on their way.. they where grossly offensive. and deserved what they got. The public acknowledged there approval as well.

One hour on duty then back to the stable. They only do one guard duty per shift . They are exercised in Hyde park( 350 acres ) next morning then they return to barracks at 11am. So one pair of mounted guards will be in the boxes from 10am til 11am. The incoming Troop will be from the other regiment. Here you see Blues and Royals troopers on duty. Next day it will be Lifeguards on duty. Hope that clarifies

The first duty begins at 10 am last ends at 4 pm , the first pair of mounted Troopers 10 am to 11 am then 1 hour in the stables return to duty 12till 1 pm , then again 2 till 3 though this is not set in stone if a horse has been restless in the box he will be replaced by another they bring 10/12 horses with them for the 2 day duty at Horse Guards . While on their duty the regiment stays at Horse Guards , once changed over they return to Hyde Park Barracks . The two Troopers on foot change every 2 hours unless weather conditions are too hot or cold , during summer they remain at their posts until 6 pm . They don't go off duty the horses still need to be fed , watered , mucked out , tack and uniforms cleaned .

I agree .the guy wasn't paying attention to anything but his friend when TBE guard was just there and he tried to get out of the way and nearly tripped on the scabbard. Nothing more not "he tried to trip the guard!".I've noticed he makes standbys that are not what happened at all before.

​@@tonisuesmith6125I agree it did appear the visitor was not aware the Guard was approaching. The Guards have been carrying out ceremonial element of their duties at Horse Guards for many years. In more recent years visitors have been allowed access to view the Guards and horses carrying out these duties. Visitors should be RESPECTFUL of this and must, at all times, ensure they do not hinder these duties.

​@denisem1080 exactly I am so done with drama lamas making up crap, than man was simply engrossed in something and didn't realize what was going on then quickly got out of the way as soon as he realized what was going on.

May I suggest watching London City Walks , John gives a running commentary on all his videos and has great knowledge of the workings of Horse Guards .

Perhaps skip past the parts of the video that don't interest you. That way it will be shorter viewing for you and those who aren't interested in the beautiful architecture, buses or the famous red phone booths.

No kidding.

If the videos are too long, take a washroom break, make a coffee or a phone call, read a chapter of a book and come back to it, rather than ordering someone to change their style of videoing.
