Hopefully Rune, but no matter whom win on court, we all win by getting to watch. Runes comeback from being down 6-1 in first set truly are a testament to his mental capabilities. Should give a boost to Rune and his future opponents a worry...As earlier predicted, I repeat, that 2023 are the year where Rune gets a slam. Rublev were the guy that caused Rune to have an early exit at AO. They have met twice and won one each, so tomorrows finale are also an internal settlement for bragging rights between Rune and Rublev.

@@stefanosalariace Yeah, I don't know how cuz it's not my job, but they have to find a way to make the players interact more between each others, and the fans, and create more enticement for players. The big 3 was so big that they used it exclusively to promote tennis for years, and now they're gonna have to either make a new big3 marketing-wise or change the way they promote the sport. I know that part of the problem is that because of buisness reasons and sponsors, the players and their surroundings have became secluded from journalists compared to back in the days when there were a lot of insides during the tournaments. Also maybe trying out new format of tournaments to make matches more entertaining to more people, but that's super controversial.

Top class tennis in both matches. As good as any other over the years. Little to choose between Rune and Sinner. Both played very well. The better player physically won. Sinner just doesn't have the physical strength and it is constantly his undoing. On faster surfaces he uses his opponent's pace well but on clay, against heavy topspin, he has to hit through a much heavier ball to generate the power himself, and he just doesn't have the weight in his body or strength in his arms. You could see his early hit shots were frequently dropping short, even when he hit them as hard as he could. Rune has the heavier shots and is the better athlete.
@ce7857
@ce7857 Рік тому
Thanks for the comment. Do they use a heavier ball on clay? Or do you mean something else?
@tomgraham3206
@tomgraham3206 Рік тому
@@ce7857 clay makes the ball heavier anyway, especially when it's been raining as the sand sticks to it. But I also mean heavier in the sense that the ball sits up and doesn't bounce as quickly, so players have to generate their own pace, especially against topspin as the ball doesn't shoot through at knee height. That's why they have such trouble with Rafa. Sinner hits a flat ball, whereas Rune has more spin, which works better on clay.
@brahmsianer5899
@brahmsianer5899 Рік тому
It's not only 'cause he's a better athlete. Don't forget the first set! It's much rather was the tactic he used from the 2nd set on (hitting heavier topspin, loopy balls especially to Sinners backhand and playing many points at net).
@tomgraham3206

@@brahmsianer5899 yes but after the first set Sinner ran out of puff, and that's the point about him lacking physically. That's so often where he loses in my opinion. Rune also wasn't playing his best in the first set.
