Thank you, Russel. Youbare helping me build the courageand will to get cleam by showing me why Ive become this husk, but also by showing me that there is life and light and meaning outside of this. I have added this quote to my important quotes list. Can believe only three comments. I find this man is the person I needed to listen to for a long time. Iv talked to a lot of drs and this man makes more sense

Ending the drug war, instilling more MAT, and safe supply IS the answer NOT abstinence based recovery. FORCING ABSTINENCE BASED RECOVERY IS HOW WE GOT HERE.

I dont share his views on abinstance based recovery....... abstinance based anything is the problem... zero tolerance is the problem... forcing people into treatment is the problem.... relapse rates are high for rehabs and you wonder why? maybe because these policies we have been using AREN'T WORKING. How well did just say no work in the 90s? how well did it work telling kids to stay abstinent when it came to sex? The same results with drugs.

I guess abstinence recovery works once you realize your life is unmanageable with everything. Obviously find a program that works best for you and your recovery. I’m a relapsed and for me abstinence and working the steps and getting a sponsor got me 7months and 2 days clean today. Rehab medi cal helped me with that and the payment plans they do offered also assisted for my recovery this 4th time around. Because me running my own program got me constantly relapsing. But again this is just MY recovery journey
