Mars has seasons, dust storms, an atmosphere, a bigger gravity well and numerous other features that the moon does not have. It's far easier to simply replicate the conditions of these places back on Earth than trying to test things on celestial bodies that are very different from one another. You also have a back up if something goes wrong, being that you're still on Earth. While I still think Moon bases should be the first step, the idea of using it for cross-referencing to get better for Mars is not in the least bit sensible.

idk if it's a crazy idea but i think of geothermal as being able to work in space. you see what you need is a hot side and a cold side, with insulation between to protect the system in the transitional phases. the temperature differential between the sun side and the dark side of a vessel or even a wall in space can vary greatly right? so can that differential be used to create power? instead of just trying to use solar or nuclear/nuclear degregation styles of power systems? i know it's crazy, but you have to understand ever since i saw 2012 the movie, i've thought about drilling mines to get to that hot zone to vaporize water for a steam generation style power generator... self contained of course but that could be raised or lowered down the mine shaft for repairs and such.... anyhow ty for the opportunity to share the ideas again. i so wish i was a scientist or had enough capital to get professional advice on the ideas :D but if i myself can't do it, i can still share them and potentially change the world :D and for some, like me... that would be a worthy lifetime accomplishment :D peace.

ANYTHING that Russia and China can do in space exploration by 2030 -- SpaceX with NASA's help can and will do MUCH better and MUCH quicker. Once fully operational, SpaceX Starships will make the biggest difference imaginable.

SpaceX is still a private company though not government funded, except for contracted items of course. I hope they never open to trading stocks Elon needs to be at the head but even their moon lander only got 2.9Billion in funding when Dynetics was asking for I think 9Billion for just an updated lander from the 70's. I really hope spacex starlink turns into a cash cow as right now funding will be SpaceX's biggest issue. Just like Tesla they are truly dragging the whole world in a better space expansion but unlike Tesla just launching satellites wont pay the tens of billions they'll need and Elon cant do a mass sell off of Tesla as it would create fear.
@Bootman899
@Bootman899 2 роки тому
@@RiceKillaz Homie, that's what Starlink ("just launching satellites") is for. Everyone on the planet getting cheap/fast internet is their cash cow and what they plan to use for space exploration projects.
@RiceKillaz
@RiceKillaz 2 роки тому
@@Bootman899 You may have missed it but I mentioned starlink. I hope it is a cash cow but that remains to be seen. I am very hopeful though as they are beating others to the market and with a much lower latency then ones already up. Spacex is constantly exploring new revenue streams such as now launching telescopes so I hope even more are to come but it's still certainly a constraint until the revenue is flowing in all the time. Sounded like Amazon is launching a similar service but will likely use SpaceX rockets due to cost. So that's a future worry but again Spacex is first

I used to at least reluctantly root for the usa, as I thought we had more freedoms than at least many other countries. After trump, I realize that even if the usa wins the space race, there are enough idiots in this country that we might still end up the worst option as the stewards of space.

This is all really nonsense, but not for the reason that you think. The point is that all these "promises" are the usual shit of the crappy news dump.
