The same is true of Bahkmut, where they moved about 2km west of Bahkmut in a year, but lost territory south of Bahkmut. There is no evidence they are able to move past Avdivika... again, less than 2km of the city. Cities matter in this war because Ukraine has turned them into fortresses along that frontline. Or put it this way. The time between Severndonesk and Bahkmut was 10 months, the time between Bahkmut and Avdivika was 8 months. It will take Russia more than a year to take Kharkic, and in that time the US elections will be over and the Dems will be all in on destroying Russia.

The US defense budget is 830 billion per year. What we have given to Ukraine amounts to less than 1 month of our yearly defense budget. On top of that, we are giving Ukraine our old stuff and then giving our own army new stuff that is replacing the old stuff.

Time is running out for Ukraine, Germany's population will not vote for parties that pay for Ukraine while our schools and infrastructure are in decline. If there is a belief that Germany will pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine, I think it is save to say you are living in a dream world. Ukraine may still exist as a rump state eventually but it will be on the economic level of a non-industrialized country. If you call this a win, ok.
