We used to play a strategy board game called Risk...we made a few rules of our own at the time. I was always happy to pay my friend in cannon and cavalry pieces to fight another enemy on a distant, inconsequential front...it essentially kept the attacker's numbers suppressed and mitigated them as an endgame threat to me

That is an M270 MLRS rocket launcher, NOT a HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, SYSTEM Sheppard Smith). This a tracked system whereas the HIMARS is wheeled. This system has 12 rockets while the HIMARS has 6. Both can fire the GLMRS rocket (70 Km GPS guided rocket), but that is NOT a HIMARS.

The greatest difference between Russian MLRS and western is that the Russians launch multiple ballistic (i.e. unguided) rockets peppering a general area (indiscriminate collateral damage/killing is irrelevant); the western variants fire guided missiles, specifically intended to minimize collateral (i.e. civilian) damages.

@@zakisaacson2188 It does actually. 6th gen fighter programs have "remote carrier" type of drones planned to be a one use only type of weapon which will either provide information about enemy positions, perform air to ground tasks, air to air, or even kamikaze strikes. We have seen kamikaze drones before used by terrorist groups to assassinate political people during an event with great effectiveness. A modern cruise missile is nothing short of a drone or remote carrier with terrain avoidance capability, onboard sensors to detect the targets position and even optical sensors like some anti-ship missiles. The technology and means to achieve that for mass production has become a thing recently. The clear breakthrough in the recent years regarding warfare is clearly about drones, hypersonic capabilities and finally stealth which already was a thing two decades ago at least.

It is urgent for President Zelensky to give an order to the MoD Oleksii Reznikov to start training more Ukrainian volunteers by the Ukrainian soldiers who have already received NATO training in addition to the Ukrainian soldiers that are being trained in NATO member countries in order to counter Putin's new mobilized forces and to keep the counteroffensive momentum going without slowing down because now is your chance to chase the barbaric Russian army out of your territory.
