The Russians may well care very little how many troops or how much materiel they lose on the ground - but they are far from stupid. They are not playing the role we have assigned to them. Their current losses are entirely predictable and must have been anticipated - as must the response.

Armies are smaller today. Back then you needed more manpower because you had less cars/trucks, machines, no drones, etc.

Most of the russian soldiers were in a contract most of them are not present their waiting for the reserves to pop in, Ukraine is just using the opportunity while the russian army is gone

Do you know what a fighter jet is? Look it up they are coming, many Ukrainian soldiers have been training recently for them.

Disagree with this. Ukraine knows what is coming and they will adjust tactics accordingly. You already see it with the taking of Izyum and Lymon... Russia can't just 'hunker down' for the rainy months because they won't be getting supplies now that the ony two rail hubs in the Donbas are gone. Much of what Ukraine is doing in the east now is in anticipation of the rainy season and using it against Russia.

Evety medium sized country in the worls would nuclear arm and be prepared to use them to turn the tide in any conventional war it was losing. Therefore the US would use conventional arms to damage Russia's war fighting ability to a much greater extent than the gain FRussia had made from it's use of nukes on the battlefield. If Russia escalated so would the US, right up to a strategic exchange. That would be a global disaster but if the US didn't react in that way a global disaster would only have been postponed. Nagasaki was the last occasion on which a conventional war could be won by the use of nukes, once more than one country had them the dynamics changed.
