Kid reminds me of Tom Wilson in his rookie season. Flying around, dishing big hits and fighting everybody in sight. Wilson got his ass handed to him a couple times, and so did Rempe. Difference is that Wilson has a lot more to bring to the table than that. There's a reason why he's sort of the gold standard for a power forward in the modern-day NHL.

That's all he's gonna be eating that's for sure.

If he'd played the full season, it would be his only season if he kept it up like this. That's a lot of brain damage taken in a mere couple of weeks. I think Rempe was tired and his heart wasn't in the fight. I think Reaves noticed that and didn't want to take advantage of that to clobber him, because he could have at the end, Rempe looked tired.

Young Probert was kinda dirty. I saw a vid of him headbutting the other guy during a fight.

I'm not sure what fight you were watching. The old lion tagged the young one far more than Rempe hit him. Yeah, the kid will be in top for years to come, but he'll lose a few along the way.

Why doesn't the NHL schedule these staged fights once before the anthems, have judges in the penalty box.... then depending on if it's a draw or not, have another in the 1st intermission until there is a clear winner OR until the fans are fully satisfied. Go all out... have ring girls, Michael Buffer, a microphone coming down from the Jumbotron, both participants trash talking each other, maybe in the future tag team, it would be AWESOME!! Oh yah...
