Fact about this war: Chile give intel support to british soldiers, because in Argentina around this time there was a popular cry of war that say's: "Primero las malvinas y luego las islas beagle / First the Falkland's Island's and after the Beagle island's" Territory in dispute that almost begin a war agains Chile. Sorry for my bad english, but hope that is understandable. Have a nice and powerfull day.

My father served in 2 para when he served in the falklands, if he was still alive he would have liked this I think, I’d live to hear a song about goose green ! My dad never talked about it, after he died his surviving squad mates told me stories of his service and it still makes me emotional now, love this band ! Thank you !

My brother was in the royal Australian navy, who offered England destroyers capable of destroying exocet missiles, but were declined If I recall correctly, a British warship was sunk by exocet missile strike?

A bit like the notion some US Politicians floated at the time to lease the UK an Aircraft Carrier (the UK officially declined, though with appreciation for the suggestion), it was a shortage of trained crews to man them. Same reason why the two then remaining *Tiger class Cruisers* weren't taken along. Their 6" guns and palacial Helicopter facilities would have been useful, but there just wasn't the time to crew & prepare them for deployment. As it was HMS Illustrious was made ready and sent south with an airgroup, but arrived too late to take part in the fighting... but just in time to relieve her elder sister Invincible, so they could head home to a very warm welcome.

Im part Argentine, and my opinion on the matter is, the current residents are mostly British of origin, and prefer to be ruled by the British. For Argentina to control the Maldivas again, they would be going against the inhabitants will. I would prefer that Argentines peacefully coexist with those on the island, many of whom had ancestors that first moved there in the 1800s. The history of the island is actuslly quite interesting, has it has switched hands many times, with Britian being the last and current occupier.

Second: I don't know what the islanders think, but it's not that it's something relevant since they are an established population, it would be different if they were a native people of those islands. The Malvinas belong to Argentina by right, the English are occupiers

The islands are not Argentinian by right, it was a cock and bull story invented so a failing government could try to win some favour by instilling nationalistic fervour. The people are British by birth, are British by culture, and wish to remain so. What fucking claim do you have other than proximity, because by that logic, Argentina should be under British rule due to their proximity to sovereign British land.

@Sabaton A good person to make a song about would be Desmond Doss, the medic who refused to wield a weapon due to his religious beliefs. In his service during World War II he would save an estimated 75 wounded men from the battle of Okinawa and be bestowed the Medal of Honor.
