Very interesting, this breakdown makes him look a lot stronger and fun than I thought he was gonna be in brawl talk. I love how you can keep throwing your super forward to give yourself an almost permanent speed boost, as shown in the race test.

Here's a fun fact about Otis that you might have not known! We all know his super can disable an enemy's attack, super and heck it even disables gadgets! However, It also disables your ability to remember he even released!

@@Lalapoo11 it's honestly a shame coz I just unlocked Otis from a box and was sad coz I didn't think he would be fun to play. But I was wrong, he (even at power lvl 1) is insanely fun to play, especially his super. Seeing brawlers like fang charge at you then become helpless is so funny. And it really turns the 1 v 1 into a victory. But his main attack is weak and the main reason he is a bad brawler in my opinion. Slow reload speed, low damage, difficult to hit his shots coz it's 3 attacks spreading out.

I know that this is pretty niche, but I love Sams starpowers. His star powers actually are unique abilities that improve his kit in a different way. In comparison to otis, all his star powers do are make him fire an extra projectile per attack, and make his super last longer.

I like that the heal one helps him in maps with walls and clutch situtations while the other one makes enemies have to prevent Sam from getting to his knucklebusters and stay away from them at the same time,

Fun Fact: in the Brawl Talk when Sam picks up his Knuckle Busters he recovers 51 hp meaning his SP was shown but nobody noticed it.

it’s because in that clip he picked them up at almost full health, and since this star power heals based on a percentage of your missing health, it’s gonna heal less the more your hp currently is

@@AJ_._._ Doesnt matter because the knockback is garbage due to having to be max range, and the other gadget has a really small pull radius, maybe it will be good with the star power that let him charge super in a radius of his old super?

Interestingly, in one of Colt's lines, he says, "Brawn and Beauty." Maybe this is in reference to Sam and Belle. Belle, which means beauty, and Brawn, in reference to his surname, Bronson, meaning that he inherited these from his parents.

Very unique brawler, I'm hyped for his release. Super fun mechanics, interesting backstory, detailed model... And quite OP, very cool :D Also, he is the sixth brawler to have an official last name. The first two are Nita and Leon, their last name is Littlefoot. Next is Piper De La Prim, and lastly we have Pam and Jessie Junker. (Everything is based on the descriptions from the beta.)

@@silverpotato4272 Umm... I am not very good at explaining. But I think what makes a brawler higher skill cap is "how many ways for the brawler tackle a situation". Take Edgar's ability as a comparison. When Edgar wants to kill a Sprout, Edgar can simply jump on Sprout and use the main attack. But when Sam wants to attack a Sprout, you may need to consider "when does Sam need to use his super to speed up?" Or "where to throw the super? Should I use the super to hit the Sprout or should I throw the super to a close wall to be able to pick up my Knuckle Busters faster?" The example shows Sam can provide more versatility than Edgar in this situation. More versatility for a brawler means more ways to approach different situations. And the user needs to think before choosing the best approach for a situation. In this video, Kairos shows us all of Sam's abilities and I think Sam's abilities have many versatilities. Sam can make many unpredictable plays in different situations. Therefore, I consider him a higher skills cap brawler.

That healing star power could be a bit overpowered depending on the cooldown between dropping and picking up supers (I didn’t time it, but it looked to be about 1 second long, which is twice as fast as natural health regen). If my timing was right, then he’ll be able to heal up much faster than most aggro/melee brawlers on walled maps (which is where he should be played anyway), or maybe even on more open maps if he is on a side lane. They might need to tweak that star power to make it only trigger on using the super button to retrieve his claws rather than any time, and maybe buff the healing it does to compensate. Because right now he could outlast brawlers in 1v1s just by standing on the edge of the map or near a wall and spamming supers until the opponent runs out of ammo

Sam's Star Power is basically equivalent to Tick's Well Oiled with extra steps but given how tanky he is, this star power would be very useful for him.

@@AcidArmy_ You use your super to heal yourself back up before your actual regeneration kicks in, as long as nobody is chasing and you have the super to begin with. Well Oiled is automatic; this is manual. Also, you don't need anything special for automatic regeneration to kick in the case of Well Oiled. Those are the only differences (ignore the numbers as they don't matter that much in this comparison). However, even after all this, Sam's star power is still better because he is a tank and he can make use of the heal better than a Tick can.

@@kairostimeYT you just explained why they are not at all like each other. The only similarity is they are both star powers that heal you. One is a boost to your passive regenerative abilities and requires no super or special map features, the other is an active ability that requires a super and also requires a wall to be effective. I would also say that tick’s star power is one of the best in the game. Edit: just checked and Kairos has Well Oiled as an S tier star power.

Sam kinda feel like Ash on release, on the weak side but not by much, I expect some buffs to his weak form, May Be a 10% buff to his weak form (from 600 to 660) or something like It. I can see him Shine in gem grab with this buff as a lane that protects the gem carrier with the knuckle buster (don't know how to write). His gadgets Need some buffs too, the pull one Is prob. only good on heist and the second can be good only against tanks with lots of walls

Personally I'd give Sam much higher tiers in bounty and solo showdown... The fact that he has a heavy hitting super at a long range at any given time is pretty strong if you ask me...

Hard disagree, especially about bounty. He’s heavily outclassed by most other tanks and assassins (him having fairly low dmg and hp for his range, plus very limited mobility) and tanks already suck in bounty

He's surely going to be overal better than Primo but he's going suffer from a similar problem Edgar has. Without his super he's going to be weak, even with the super he's not so good. Overall Buzz is kinda better since his super is more rewarding but i can tell Sam has a great potential at stealing kills and chain healing with his super (kinda like Stu with healing SP). He's going to be really good in maps with many covers but terrible in open ones. another good news for Sam is that he's better than Jacky and he for sure isn't gonna be the worst melee/tank with the kit he has.

I was surprised to hear that one of his voice lines is: "Its all gone Pete Tong" It's a reference to the 2004 movie by the same name. It's about a DJ that suddenly goes deaf. A Hilarious, and over-the-top drug-movie, that is well worth watching! The voice line can be heard at approximately 13:51 I love how the creators of the game also give small nods and references for the adult players of the game to appreciate!

I genuinely think Sam is gonna be pretty broken over most gamemodes I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a nerf or two before release Edit: Honestly it’s the speed-boost he always gets when throwing the super. He feels like a brawl who can recycle supers very often, and that speed definitely helps.

I think he’s gonna be garbage. He has low hp and dmg for his range, plus almost no mobility (which is super important for tanks). His super will be nice, but mediocre long range dmg doesn’t compensate for his weaknesses. Overall just outclassed by other tanks, especially considering his stats are almost identical to Rosa’s, minus the broken gadgets and 70% shield

It should make sense if the enemies steps on the traps they get stunned, and some damage is given, for example stun: 1 second, damage: 1050. And then gets his super back. So first gadget will be more useful.

Just shoot the super out immediately whenever you spawn. The speed boost last exactly long enough for the distance to get the knuckle busters back

I actually thought of a brawler named Sam about 2 years ago. Sam would be a Legendary thrower and tbh would’ve fit in perfectly with the buzz trio. Sam would throw 4 types of balloons that would go in a cycle and have different effects (red, blue, yellow, and green balloons). Sam would’ve had 3920 health (lvl 9) and would have a fast movement speed. He would’ve had he same range and blast radius as dynamike. The red balloon would deal 1400 damage (lvl 9), the blue balloon would have its radius boosted by 15% and would deal 1300 damage, the yellow balloon is the weakest only dealing 1300 damage, and the green balloon would heal teammates and Sam by 1200 health. STAR POWER 1: When the yellow balloon hits the ground, it leaves that small area in flames and the fire damage is 450 for 4 seconds. STAR POWER 2: when Sam hits a enemy, he gains a shield that blocks 15% of damage and gains 10% faster movement speed for 2 seconds. Gadget: when you hit a enemy with a green balloon after you activate a gadget, it poisons them for 500 damage each second for 3 seconds. SUPER: Sam whips out his water gun and sprays his enemys! The gun doesn’t do any damage but hitting the enemy’s will cause a barto appear that only Sam and his teammates can see. If the bar gets 1/3 full sams balloons do 15% more, 2/3 is 25% more, and a full bar is 50% more damage. Sam’s water in his water gun will cover them with very blue water so others can clearly tell and the ink stays on enemy’s for 15 seconds and then go away. Also the spray gun will act like ambers main attack and will run out after 5 seconds and will take 5 hits to charge. I think he will be like stu, where a pro player can continuously recycle his super but an average player will struggle since he is a melee brawler without some sort of mechanic to approach the enemy

They should have made a gadget where sam could pull the brawler who steps on his dormant super when u click the gadget thereby being the only bear trap that would catch the prey and also bring it to the hunter... A little "Samcrifice" goes a long way.

you can really tell supercell is modernizing the brawlers because these last couple of characters (except Otis) have had pretty thoughtful and more fleshed-out kits than many of the earlier brawlers. I hope they continue to rework older brawlers too and give them more well rounded kits

Sam doesn’t seem to be able to close gaps easily, so what if some one steps over his super while lying on the ground gets dealt 1050 damage, stuns the enemy and Sam get sped boost.
