I agree. I feel like if it had more depth like the verses ‘how they whisper bout the places that you’ve been. And how you don’t know how to keep your business clean’ it would’ve felt heavier. There’s something about the drawn out tone. It’s messy but in a hot way. I don’t know much about music but it’s just a bit too ‘pop’ for me. Loft music by the weeknd and Under the influence by Chris Brown have a filthier vibe. But this is just my opinion lol

Its cause the original sound was in the studio. Studio speakers and audio will trick u lol. The studio speakers make it sound a lot deeper, bassier, and guttural then it sounds in headphones or through normal speakers.
