But there’s no ecosystem that rivals Apple’s ecosystem and the one that comes closest is the Galaxy ecosystem. With each iteration of their phones, Samsung phones are becoming more ominous a suitable alternative as they expand their ecosystem.

Samsung+google barely able to even the market against apple/ios. Individually, they pose no threat to apple, though google stands a better chance than samsung. We saw how google nexuses and google pixels did in the competition against apple and ios over the years. Google still needs samsung's hand. More so now that apple has released more and more mid range iphones.
