Really wish the contract with Jarryd Hayne, a well renowned rugby player from down under, would of fleshed out better than it did. Just goes to show each sport has unique talent and strength in order to succeed; I remember his first regular season play he returned a punt and just got creamed because he didn't call for a fair catch, wasn't ever really comfortable on the gridiron after that. It's like when I used to go see my Los Angeles Raiders play the Chiefs in the Coliseum during the first half of the 90's. We could never beat them but it was ALWAYS one helluva game that came down to a field goal at the most...and nobody left mad.

@Joshua Maddox defense has always been the problem, or at least since '02. Stidham looked really good, and I'm excited about the possibilities with him. He knows this system (been in it for 3 years). It's just funny to hear people finally blaming the defense when this is what they've done all season. Blow leads and lose the game. Carr took all the blame, and the defense was somehow praised. This was Carr's 1st year in yet another offensive system, and boy did the playcalling look suspiciously different. No gadget, trick plays that failed miserably, and much more play action and 2 back sets. Still a Raiders fan and excited for Stidham's tenure, but my goodness our defense needs help.

You're missing Arik Armstead, he single-handedly stopped 2 drives....

with a little RGR (Robbie Gould Redemption) mixed in. His miss looked similar to the one he missed that propelled us to victory when he kicked for the Bears.

Ryans called like only 4 blitzes and only ran like 2 stunts the whole game. Also they played soft coverage giving Stidham tons of time in the pocket. They should have created more pressure on him instead of telling the line to push in a straight line. After the half they could have come out blitzing and pressing the coverage to get the Stidham off balance instead of handing him easy pockets to either throw or scramble through.

Niners and Raiders have met only a handful of times in the modern era, but back in the day if you were a fan of one team, you gave respect and props to the other. The bay area never had crosstown rivalries like some other places did, in fact a lot of big names like Roger Craig and Jerry Rice ended up playing for both franchises. It was all love in the bay.

Stidham looked like he belonged. A few mistakes but he played a complete game for the most part. The big pick at the end happened because Bosa pancaked him with his own guard, that's nobody's fault but Bosa's lol. Anyway, nobody smart is gonna hold that pick against Stidham, and the Raiders despite being huge underdogs played well enough to win if things had bounced better for them. Despite the L at the end this definitely says more good things than bad about the future of the Raiders.
